Have a lovely evening with your friends, Cheery.2023: the year I get to buy a car7

Thanks both
They certainly are Beanie!
So. I have had a nice relaxed afternoon. Lost £5.64 on the happy wheel, but we're still up over £50 in total this month. Cleaned out the chicken house, which was a bit of a faff, lots of back and forth to one of the outbuildings, which made me think about longer term plans to build some kind of storage for food/bedding that's closer to the chicken run (NOT a project for this year though!)
Now I've got two hours til friends are due, and Mr Cheery isn't feeling very well, so is having a lie down... I'm in danger of just sitting here staring into space, so need a list!
4pm-5pm
* put the breadmaker on for the pizza dough
* finish writing blog post I'm in the middle of
* shuffle the chairs round - we've still got metal garden chairs round the table from when my family were here, but they can go back outside and we can sit on the comfortable ones
* hang washing up
5pm-6pm
* dough to prove in low oven
* prepare toppings for pizza - tomato sauce, veg, cheese
* prettify table and light candles
* wash up and clear kitchen
* run hoover round
* clean bathroom
* get changed
That'll probably do. I should probably abandon the blog post but I'm not going to17 -
Wowzers Cheery, you are busy and long, round trips are tiring. I hope Mr Cheery Snr feels better soon.
Did you ever follow Frugal Queen’s blog back in the day? She’s retired to France now and has started a YouTube channel. She’s very no nonsense (and a bit scary sometimes 😂)and has lots of good, practical money saving ideas . I love her!!!! Anyway, she did a series of videos on struggle meals and a couple of them were on lunchbox ideas and they were really good. They’re not always veggie but are easily adapted.
I must confess that crisps and a twirl sounds flipping marvellous but perhaps not every day 😂😂
Have a good rest of the weekend xOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

Cheery, I'm glad that FIL is able to be home and have dog back again - but sorry that you have long journeys to see him. Hope that you enjoy your pizza evening with your friends.It's not difficult!

Thank you both 😊 PP, I came across Frugal Queen now and then, but never really followed. Will add to the list of meal ideas, thank you 😊
Pizza evening was cheery, and pizzas were definitely better with yeast that wasn't 4 years out of date 😂 although I think I could still improve the technique. Gosh I'm full though. Pretty much had a whole pizza each, and then we made a kind of crumble thing and custard after too 😮😮 Might be rolling to bed tonight 😮😮😂😂
I'm meeting my friend at 11 tomorrow, and was planning to go to the gym beforehand 😮 Can't decide now whether that's a dreadful idea or a complete necessity 😂😂16 -

Well, I DID manage to get to the gym, but it was a bit of a palaver! Hadn't packed my bag last night, although I had at least found my gym clothes. Ended up running late, not being able to find free parking, and having to pay £1.70(!) to park, only to have just 20 mins in the gym 🙄 Glad I did though - I enjoyed it, and I'm pleased I put in the effort 😊
Then I drove to meet my friend, bit of a faff with diversions but we got there eventually, although as I arrived he sent a text saying he'd decided he didn't like the place we were going to, and had gone somewhere else! So I had to turn round and drive 10 mins back in the other direction 🙄😂 we had a nice day in the end though.
And I thought I was missing band rehearsal but it turned out it's next week 🙄 I was all pleased with myself for deciding to put myself first and not rush too 😂
Now beset with period pain so running a bath 🙄 Glad for my heavy duty painkillers - I COULD manage without a bath at this point, and I would manage if I was at work or something, but since I'm home, I might as well sooth away the discomfort and have a nice read at the same time 😊
Money wise, not a bad day. I drove probably 70 miles, and we went into two cafes, and I bough friend drink and cake in one of them, and spent a total of £11.60. Popped into a supermarket on the way back for something they dididn'have the other day so another £3.45 from the food budget. Not too bad.
Right, a little trip round diary land and then I'd best concentrate on this bath!16 -
Enjoy the bath. Sounds like you deserve it after all the rushing around.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
