You remind me of the time my husband said he'd seen some Playmobil in a charity shop. I cheated the chazzer Fates, used google maps to locate Exactly which shop, phoned them & had the box put on one side for me.
The fates must have been amused as not only were there vikings (as advertised) in the box but several Magi and a nun. Storytelling with that setup was something of a challenge as a nuns habit is very clear - no shieldmaiden or lady-in-waiting. I seem to recall she ended up trying to do missionary work whilst tallying the loot. Every travelling party needs someone to keep a firm hand on the accounts...
If you're not minded to trust to luck, do please use the phone?! Although ensuring The Right Thing is held was was easier with a clear brand & colourful packaging.12 -
Gosh, I do wish I lived near your amazing charity shops! The ones in my town charge extortionate prices for anything with a recognisable label (or just anything tbh) - before Christmas my local BHF was expecting someone to fork out £49.99 for a shabby and bobbled North Face anorak 🙄🤔 It’s still there.Books read 2023 - 49/757

Did the rounds of the only two chazza shops open in Thirsk today. In the Cancer Research shop I got a wooden bath thingumidoofer - one of those things that goes across the bath and holds the soap/loofah/glass of champagne etc. Still in the packaging and priced at £1.95. Had a squiz at a handbag displayed in the window and almost fainted when I saw the £100 price tag. Never heard of the designer, (and I do know my bags!), sounded Italian tho. Might pop back tomorrow to get the name as I'm curious to do a bit of research. Will be interesting to see how long that one takes to sell at that price!8

Got a lovely haul of children's books all in like new condition from Oxfam bookshop today. I gather for various children I buy for at Christmas and on birthdays. Couple of Jacqueline Wilson, couple of Roald Dahl, copies of Pippi Longstocking, Charlotte's Web and The Magic Faraway Tree. £1 each on average and one for free because I bought more than 5. The Enid Blyton still had the £5.99 Waterstone's receipt in it.

Sounds like bargains all round this weekend! I’m hoping to pay a visit to a couple of chazzas lunchtime today. Haven’t been to these ones since well before Christmas, so hoping there’s been a bit of stock rotation!Every act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️
