Getting bored with this - OP asked for an opinion - everybody has told him it was his fault - If he persists with this obvious falsehood I expect to read his insurance has been cancelled. So perhaps he needs to start a new topic about how he can get insurance.

His insurers have the right to deal with third party claims however they wish. So when the third party presents their claim, it’ll get settled on a without prejudice basis.
