I can login to my Shell Energy account and can see that my credit balance has been transferred across 👍

But, 👎, my last direct debit payment was all the way back in December. The Pure Planet DD is no longer active on my account (I haven’t cancelled it; I presume PP or SE have cancelled it), and I am still waiting for Shell Energy to set up a new direct debit.

Also, I have yet to receive any bills from Shell.

Is this normal? Should I be doing anything? (Anything other than preparing to receive and pay an enormous bill!)
There was an issue for many customers over DDs not being taken in January as part of the switchover. I got an e-mail about this from Shell, as did others I know on here and off this forum. Did you?

I received my first bill from Shell on 9 February.

@moocowone , I haven't received a bill either by email or in my account.

They did manage to get my DD set up, but won't be using it till March.  And I got the email about that.  I can't see the once-off payment I made because my DD wasn't set up in time for February.  Tbf, today's only the 2nd working day, so I'll reserve judgement on that one!

    Anyone else at this stage?

I'm wondering about changing to payment on receipt of bill.  Any thoughts?

Yes mine was a normal looking bill, but just for the period from when Shell took over the account. I've not had a final bill from Pure Planet.

From your comment about the DD it sounds like things are progressing OK for you and if you just wait all should be OK. They can't migrate all accounts at once.

    Thanks for getting back.

I do agree with your 2nd paragraph.  I assumed it'd take time - there are rather a lot of us!

In fact, the acknowledgement of my once-off payment had been put on my account by teatime.  My account does tell me how much credit was transferred and records Jan's DD and this month's once-off.  So, in that sense, so far so good.

It was just that they've given me a fresh figure for what they assume I'll be using (c £13 more) and then suggest I up my DD by £44.  All figures, apparently, plucked out of the air.  I'm not comfortable with the fact that the charges are in place without - at least at present - the ability to find out why I'm being charged what I am.

Won't say I look forward to getting a bill in early March (latest threatened date!), but at least I'll stand a chance of getting some proper information.

Anyway, thanks again for getting back,  At least I know now that I haven't received a bill...

My transition to Shell appears to have completed.
My Pure Planet balance transferred across and they messaged me that they'd had a delay in getting the first payment through and suggested I increase my monthly payment to £149, which I did.
My account summary on the site says "Your account's in good shape", so that's good.
I'll give it a couple of months and then review my bills & payments.
There may be some blips, but it seems to be about on-track.
Apart from the energy prices themselves, I've no complaints about the process.

My account seems to be at roughly the same stage as yours, BUT
I can't consider the transition complete until I can use my account easily to see my bills, my usage, the tariff I'm on and my payments.  At present I can give them a reading and find out my balance and that seems to be more or less it.

I'm pretty sure my account should be "in good shape", even if they haven't told me so because they've got over £500 of my money already! And I've no idea how much of it is for energy I've used and/or how much (if any) is credit.  Because I haven't got a bill (aaargh! :) )

Sorry if this sounds like a rant - it really isn't.  I realise that it'll take time to sort, and I'm prepared to wait.  I also accept that there are bound to be glitches when so many people had to transition suddenly.  Apparently I'll get a bill at the beginning of March now.  I'm just not prepared (or really able to afford) the amount of money they suggest unless I actually owe it to them.

  • My first Shell bill arrived today 👍

Ive given up waiting for them to set up a direct debit so I’ve done it myself. I note that they have an option to pay the exact bill amount each month, which I’ve never seen/noticed before, and I quite like.

I assume people setting up DDs chose to cancel their PP DDs for some reason? I never did, as per their advice, and my DD has transferred across without me having to do anything.

Nope! My pure planet DD disappeared from my direct debit list without me doing anything. I fully assumed Shell would set up a new one shortly after, but they didn’t.
