Pure Planet to Shell Energy

I'm not sure where the figures below come from.
My average monthly electricity spend since I was moved to Shell is approx £45 per month. Based on a years usage (using more in winter than summer) my estimated monthly direct debit should be slightly over £41 (approx 1900 kwh pa). I was also about £3 in debt at the time of the demise of Pure Planet. When I use the edit payment amount link to try to reduce my direct debit to £42 I get the messageThe minimum amount you can set your Direct Debit to is £51.00I don't know whether they are already trying to factor in the April increase but this does seem slightly sneaky.PS As they haven't been getting information from my smart meter to my knowledge I have also supplied weekly meter reading which back up my usage calculations.PPS My Gas is with Zog (sorry EDF) so there would be an even greater discrepancy if they were calculating for dual fuel.0 -

New email this afternoon from Shell about billing titled ‘Your bill will be ready soon’
We’re sorry for the delay in sending your first bill. This is because we wanted to make sure your balance was up to date, and include any payments you may have made to Pure Planet. This means we won’t have to adjust your balance later on. We’ll be sending out bills from Tuesday 8th February in line with your normal billing period. You’ll then be billed monthly going forward. We’ll be in touch five days before we send your bill to ask you for a meter reading. This will help make sure that your bill is accurate and you’re only billed for the energy you use. It will also mean you avoid building up a large credit or debit on your account. Arch0 -

They were asking for £200 one off payment as they had screwed up on moving dd
As at Jan PP were still taking my payments.

PP went bust in October? It's probably time to cancel your DD.consumers_revenge said:Check shell emails this morning.

An update on your transfer to Shell Energy
Management of your Direct Debit will be transferred to Shell Energy in January. We’re working really closely with Shell Energy — payments that you make to Pure Planet between now and then will continue to be credited to your account, and either reduce the amount you owe Pure Planet or increase the credit transferred to Shell Energy.

Please keep your Pure Planet Direct Debit in place to ensure that:

Neither PP nor Shell took a DD from me in January so I'm not too concerned that they want me to pay something although the tone of the emaill suggests this is optional ("we recommend.....") and any shortfall would be rolled up into my DD amount.

No there should be no need to as the DD and payments are being transferred.QrizB said:

I've had e-mails with an account number at the top but I've not actually received anything to say how I should go about registering for online access. How did other people receive this?
I've tried to see if I could get anywhere via the login option on the Shell website over the last few days but the site seems essentially broken at the moment (and there's a message at the top about them trying to fix it).0 -
I think they pluck them out of thin air! (I hope so, anyway).FishInGlass said:I'm not sure where the figures below come from.

I have a £250 credit balance at 28/12 (and they will have had another £98 at the beginning of Jan), my winter monthly payment was/is £98, they reckon my predicted monthly usage will be £126 and I should increase my payment to £141/month! But no information on what this is based on. My actual usage has always been lower than the average usage figure quoted by suppliers, etc.0
