Hello all. Hugs where needed.
we were up early and went to dds to cook the turkey. Since getting back we have put presents round the tree, started to make the table look nice and iced and decorated a Yule log. I've also set up a baby changing area upstairs. Still loads to do.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Pancakes made for brekkie, picnic made for lunch and I am about to light both woodburners. I have come down with a very very heavy head cold, did a LFT which was negative.
Cuppa now and maybe a snooze xx

Hello all,
Paid stuff done. Pushed out the door 3 hours early by the director, who also wanted to go home. Well, the 4 of us had managed to demolish the top layer of the Christmas biscuits, so we felt it was only right to stop there and then. A very mucky and wet drive home, to find DH struggling to descale the coffee machine, instruction book in hand.I need to sort the fridge as DH has been playing fridge Tetris, but without my skill level.I have just opened all my flylady cards, thank you one and all x. The chocolate coin is next to me “for later”, and my santa hat is hanging next to last year’s angel. Thank you.
Round, my lovely, my Inbox is always open, I hope you already know that. Don’t be sad or think you are alone xx 🐷not sure how that little pig slipped in there, but he is staying because he is cute 😉.
Right, finish cuppa and a sneaky mince pie, then I need to have serious words with the fridge and freezer.10 -
Progress so far (including some extra items):
- cut back the dead Michaelmas daisies along the drive ✅
- a trip to the tip with all the garden rubbish✅
- deliver the last of the Christmas cards ✅ including a long chat with friends I haven't seen for almost a year (we are all godparents to E)
- clean! clean! clean! ✅ all upstairs and most of downstairs. My steam mop has apparently died on me, leaking water all over the place
- 45 min zzz ✅
- Rosie's walk ✅
- wash towels - leaving this until after Christmas
- put up the tree in the DR - next, but I needed to sit for 10 minutes
- put up the rest of the LR decorations [not many] and cards [loads]
- carol service
- QHI to get it out of the way - only if I have the energy
- wrap gifts - at the very least, those for DH and Rosie

I am grimly hanging on to my Christmas spirit. Two years today since DS1 started chemo, I saw him outside briefly this afternoon from a distance, and I so wanted to say stuff all this Covid nonsense just give me a hug but I didnt. He has done a negative LFT so is going to grandparents for Christmas, hopefully I get to see him on Monday unless DH and I get it.
DS2 is still locked away in his room. I have done some laundry, hoovered through, and we have had a buffet tea. I have a couple of last presents to wrap and will maybe watch some telly.
Oh and I have opened the wine. There is more in the fridge.11 -
My sister just tested positive for the plague. We were all at the panto together 36 hours ago.. meh.. c'est la vie.. and all that.
