Well the rain is absolutely teaming down. Very excited at watching the 250l water butt fill up. Its now over flowing so the buckets are collecting the over spill/ Got to make sure the fruit trees get enough.
Could collect some excess for flushing the loo as we are a water meter property. Has anyone ever challenged their waste water collection with the water company? It is nearly as much as the water in. As there is not as much going out and ours is reasonably questionable that will be next bill with them. This rain downpour is definitely a 500 ltr collection not going back into the system. I hope that the local flooding is not affecting properties again. (Too many new builds around our village causing floods).

The tour guide encouraged people to take a piece of the plant outside of Anne Hathaway's cottage for that reason: William Shakespeare — 'There's rosemary, that's for remembrance; pray, love, remember; and there is pansies, that's for thoughts....Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

It must have worked for remembering for me - the trip to Anne Hathaway's house was 42 years ago - and I still remember it clearly!5

The largest part of my bill is for rainwater collection, and water from the garden will come under that category. My standing charges are £25/year for incoming water, £5/year for water down the drains, and £102/year for rainwater collection. That takes my standing charges to £132 - from a total annual bill of £165 once I add on actual water usage !!

Rainwater collection
Just a reminder that if you live in a road with no street drains you may be entitled to a refund /reduction on your water bill. We lived in just such a road but it was never identified on our water bill. Tried to claim a backlog refund for that period but company wouldn't pay up and only reduced the bill going forward.5 -

Morning chums still very warm in Kent and although we had a smattering of rain the garden still looks brown and dried up. I sadly am nolonger able to garden much so I have a chap who comes once a fortnight to weed and mow the lawn and generally keep it looking tidy bless him I was his first customer when he set his little business up and has kept my price at the same level of £12 for an hour once a fortnight .He even takes the garden rubbish away with him.Smashing chap and will also do odd jobs for me if needed.
Well belt-tightening has started and having seen martins video things look like they will be getting tough this coming winter so laying in some extra stocks to help streetch the cash flow a bit.
A few extra tins a week help and I'm using the book case in my spare room to store stuff as I have decluttered it from a lot of books to the CS.
Hopefully we will all get through by careful budgetting and using everything up I have a zero waste policy in my house for both food and rubbish.
Basically if its been bought to eat then it will get eaten. My freezer now has been filled up, and the cupboards are looking pretty full as well, so extra tins etc will go upstairs to my spare room.
Onwards and upwards chums this cost of Living stuff won't defeat this old woman i've lived through a lot worse

Morning everyone
Woke up to rain, but it's so warm again already. Another 6 hour shift in the worlds already way too hot carehome for me today so I'm packing extra water.
Can I ask if anyone has experience with mini greenhouses? We've been offered one (we don't have much outdoor space) but neither of us are green thumbed. Can we grow Tom's & cucumbers? Is it hard? And is it worth it?
I know there is a specific gardening forum but trying not to overwhelm myself with joining too many threads!
Thank you in advance. Have a great Sunday everyone8
