I have a rechargeable motion sensor light in the hall which gives me plenty of light for night-time bathroom visits and saves me having to keep the hall light on as the switch is some way from my bedroom. The charge lasts for weeks at a time and I charge it when I am using my laptop on mains electricity.9

Well we are getting a Hosepipe Ban here from next Friday - 5 August (Southern Water). Not a surprise, we have all received a request to conserve water already. I don't have a hosepipe, just a very empty water butt - can't remember the last time it rained as it really has been quite a while.
I don't know if this has officially been confirmed but the date of the October Energy Price Cap increase announcement from Ofgem seems to be 27 August. Mind you they brought the date forward last time so around that date!.5 -
A hose pipe ban is not surprising. We are a different water compaany but it wouldnt surprise me. We have a fish pond but we will be allowed to top it up but emptying it to clean it will be a no no.

It will come off your direct debits in installments, if that is how you pay. It gets more complicated if you are on prepayment.Frugal Living Challenge 2024

Welsh Water haven't said anything yet, so far as I know. I always use my washing up water on the garden and I have a bucket in the shower to catch some of the water. I've also got a bowl in my wash basin to catch water when I wash my hands. I either use it to flush the loo or on the garden. We had a few days when it rained so my water butts have some water in them. At the risk of sounding really tight, I try to make my water work twice.10
