2022 Frugal Living Challenge

My frugality has been MIA for sometime by loosing focus and letting other stuff get in the way. Anyway am back where I need to be, making plans for the next year.
Had a very good haul with TGTG tonight as we made 3 purchases (not something we have done before either) they were on a good loop round near where we live. We ended up with some very "sensible" items which suits our life style and preferences. We have just enjoyed a very international tea and hubby has chosen his sandwiches for the next few days as will be shopping from our stocks.
DH has also finally succumbed to using the blankets that are about in the living room for them to be used. He never complains of being cold but when I spot him and make him cover up he falls asleep. Then when asked what made him fall asleep he said he was nice and warm!!
Keep warm all and see you in the new year

Grabbed a few YS bargains today. Half price chickens and breasts. I used the money collected via the Asda app so only had to pay a couple of pence for 2 bags of shopping.
I have a £25 grocery voucher to help out over the month, DH xmas gift from work.
Hopefully a cheap month for grocery if I use up vouchers, nectar points etc. Savings will go into rainy day fund.
Hope you all have a happy new year with lots of bargains and money saving.7 -
Picked up my Christmas cards today.
for some reason I missed buying them in the half price sale last year, so was determined this year.12 -
Good morning and welcome to the final day of our 2022 challenge. 2023 challenge awaits with open arms. I hope everyone has survived yet another year of financial (and otherwise) unrest and is prepared for whatever 2023 throws at us.
I've not done a kitchen / food inventory but it's safe to say I'm stocked up, ready to go and shouldn't need anything at all in January. Olio has been very good for us and for that, I'm extremely grateful. (Olioex.com explains how you can help rescue surplus to requirement food)
Tonight, we are seeing in the new year with friends at Frugaldom, all camping out in various ways - motorhome, campervan, bowtop wagon and hut. I wish every one of you a fabulously frugal new year. Thank you all for following the frugal lifestyle and for being a part of this challenge. Thanks also to the moneysavingexpert.com site for hosting these forums and our challenges, which have brought so many like-minded individuals together, both online and in real life. Hoping to meet a few more of you next year.

I added the totals to what I had spent in the year. I have overspent on general spends and was under my budget for the food. Have falling off the band wagon as so to speak quite a few times this year. I managed my spends this month and I learnt that my fixed term contract in work is not going to be renewed. Last day in work is going to be 4th January 2023. Am grateful that I was in that position for 2 years and hoping to get other temp work in the organisation.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20136 -
Don't worry about falling off the Frugal living wagon, just dust yourself down and we'll lend you a hand to get back on board. I now actually have a real life Frugaldom wagon so I know how easy it is to fall off - hold on tight, 2023 could be quite a bumpy ride for some of us.
