good evening frugal friends.
as of the 19th of July we are now officially debt free (again) not including the mortgage or student loans (i never included student loans tbh).
today was a no spend day as was yesterday. on the 19th i did do a very large food shop at aldi which was £125. i did get a few extra treat bits because its the summer holidays and its been a while since we had some treat bits. i also spent £80 on fuel on the 18th. and i went to tesco and bargain buys and got the kids some new summer/garden toys on the 19th too, which was about £100 but everything was budgeted for and i had saved for.
i have been sticking to our cash budgeting and we have started saving in most categories. ive also officially started my level 4 diploma now too as of a few weeks ago.
this week was quite a spendy week but going forward im keeping the purse strings tightly shut.
@Frugaldom do you have a link to the spreadsheet i can't download it from the first page. many thanks

Made jam with some of the berries from the garden. Did put in red gooseberries and an apple for the pectine. 8 jars made. Wish I had saved more jars during the year.Really hoping for some rain as water barrels are nearly empty and all veg are looking rather small for this time of the year.£ 2012 in 2012

*S*d's Law! Just as we get some rain at last we discover our big water batt has nearly emptied itself with a small leak which we have yet to locate. As it links into an overflow adjacent butt we therefore won,t be able to collect any water until it,s been sorted. Grrh!6

@weenancyinAmerica I'd never heard of Rosemary being used for remembrance, that's interesting.
@florianatwobob ah interesting. I am thinking about making lavender bags this year for the first time but never thought of other herbs
Well done @m@"mumof3.12kindebt" ! That's great. What is your diploma in? I hope it goes well.5 -
I think there's something about rosemary being for remembrance in The Winter's Tale. Did it for "A" level.8

We're inundated with flies at the moment, not blue bottles but flies, that are a lot smaller, moths and mossies. I've resorted to using bleach which is usually a no no in this house as it kills the good guys in the drainage system we have, so I have to empty the bucket outside. Any ideas on how to keep flies away in the house. - doors/windows are open most of the day during this heat.5
