[Help] Parking vultures court claim received

Hi all, new here, basic over view of where I am. Will try and give detail but keep identity hidden.
Early 2019 PCN issued for failure to pay for duration of stay (machine only let me input some digits of VRM, paid for longer than I stayed, displayed ticket in window, left within paid time period)
Appealed to Parking Vultures to point out that machine at fault
Offered me reduction to £30 as goodwill gesture as keying errors are user error
Appealed to POPLA inc whiteness statement
Appeal denied as I breached terms and conditions (didn’t enter full VRM)
Late 2019 start of letters from LegalCompany1 for £170 owed
Early 2020 final Parking Vultures letter, £100 jumped to £160 no mention of why, passed to legal department.
Early 2020 start of letters from LegalCompany2 £160 owed
Early 2020 SAR requested and received
Early 2020 I send letters to LegalCompany1 and LegalCompany2 denying debt, requesting account hold
Mid 2020 LegalCompany1, sorry, mistake we shouldn’t have sent you letters, bye.
18 months passes…
Late 2021 LegalCompany2, estimated £270 if we get to court, CCJ’s etc.
Early Dec 2021 Northampton County Court Claim Form on door mat dated Dec 3rd
Dec 10th MCOL form filled in as per newbie thread
Believe I have until Jan 5th to file defence via CCBCAQ email address
Joined MSE forum for help as I want to beat these babies
I believe I’m now at the draft defence stage. Searching forum for ‘keying error’ or ‘keying error defences’ brings up a lot of none parking ticket related posts. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong when searching? Can anyone suggest a good thread with a defence relating to keying errors please?
Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome.
You are right with your Defence filing deadline but there might be something useful here...With a Claim Issue Date of 3rd December, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 5th January 2022 to file your Defence.
That's nearly three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.4 -
For reference the carpark no longer exists so complaining to land owner I would believe is pointless.0

You don't need to find a defence about a keying error. You can write that bit yourself for para 3 of our template and you should allege that this was machine error, not user error, and put the C to strict proof to the contrary. Faulty keypads that miss off digits even though they were keyed in by a driver in good faith, is very common.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

'C' is the Claimant. You are the 'D', Defendant.Which parking firm, no need for all the cloak and dagger stuff? This isn't a MI5 case. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

This isn't a MI5 case.If Premier Park Ltd have explicitly said they were charging you £30 for a keying error, then you should raise a complaint with the BPA via the complaints portal of their website. Complain that PP Ltd were breaching Code of Practice requirements. Quote the relevant paras of the CoP and attach copies of the letters that PP Ltd sent you outlining the charge level. If they have the BPA sniffing around just before Christmas, they might just throw their cards in. Don't try, won't know! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front.
