Switch Maestro was a separate debit product.Deleted_User said:How come everyone is moving the Mastercard these days? I remember back when Mastercard Debit were Maestro and hardly anyone issued them.

It may have been a separate product but it is still owned by MasterCard.Deleted_User said:

Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:1 -
Maestro was/is owned by Mastercard this is what I'm getting at. Back in the Maestro days not many banks did Maestro as most switched away to Visa after Switch became Maestro and also at the time Mastercard Debit was unheard of.Deleted_User said:

Not quite unheard of - Clydesdale (+ Yorkshire) started moving from Maestro to Mastercard Debit in 2009 (when RBS Group and HSBC were in the process of moving to Visa Debit):Deleted_User said:

Have all NatWest and Royal Bank customers received their new Mastercard Debit Cards now? I have a Child & Co branded VISA debit card and there is no sign of a Mastercard.1

They were a bit vague about when they will issue them all. I’ve not received either a NatWest or RBS (Child and Co) card.1

Newp - only customers who have had a new card issued so far (i.e. lost/stolen, expired or new account) - my Natwest Visa Debit card is still active. I've seen suggestions that the mass reissue will be June or sometime this summer.gsmh said:Have all NatWest and Royal Bank customers received their new Mastercard Debit Cards now? I opened a new account at 15-80-00 last week and received a Child & Co Visa Debit. I expect if it was any other branch of RBS I would have received a Mastercard though.1 -
Just received mine, it’s even worse nothing on the from at all - looks and feels like a really bad hotel key! 1 -

I like the new idea of vertical cards with the details printed on the back like my Starling Bank debit card and Virgin Money credit card.
Horizontal cards with embossed gold/silver details (that always wear off) are so old fashioned, like who even has an old swish swoosh carbon copy slip contraption thing these days!0
