I thought things might have all been good by now after the initial switch issues......Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I have received a email 2 days ago saying they need a reading by 3rd June. Going to submit mine on either 1st or 2nd June. I have credit back from Zog that is sitting with EDF so I'm hoping that credit offsets the increase in cost and hence my DD wont go up that much
@Sterlingtimes Be interesting to hear how the smart gas meter install goes, I have been considering switching to one. My Elec is a smart meter but didn't bother with gas at the time as it is outside property so easy for meter reader to read it. I also have a semi concealed box I think they are called and I did read a while back that edf were not fitting smart meters in those but I suspect they probably are by now.

I did the change on 22nd of April with meter readings for this date and received a catch up bill. I was asked to submit readings on the 28th with bill generation on 1st of May promised. I never received a bill from them.
Last week I have now submitted meter readings and received a bill the next day. Seems at least for me the time between the initial bill and the next one was to short, even so they asked for it and threatened with an inflated direct debit order if I don't submit the readings.0 -
Received an email demanding a reading by 1st June to prevent estimates being used , but elsewhere on my account it's telling me to provide a reading by 22nd June !
EDF really are a bunch of incompetents - just wish I could find somewhere to go - Octopus declined to make me an offer when I phoned ,even if I switched gas and electric !1 -

You only have to get lucky once !I switched recently from EDF to Octopus with no problems, even using a referral code. It went live on 20 May and the refund cheque from EDF is already in the bank.1

EDF's IT systems are, shall we say, idiosyncratic. The app and the website don't always agree and sometimes neither are correct. This was one (small) factor in me leaving them twice in the past 12 months!N. Hampshire, he/him. The balance is correct and according to my calculations will leave me around 92p in credit after I submit a read on 31st. 5 months use costing me just under last year's total1

Just logged into my account and whilst email I got says reading needed by 3rd June, website shows a conflict, whereby one section saying 3rd June, another saying need by 24th June.
I'll got for doing just before the 3rd and I'm covered either way
