    DPO = Date Protection Officer.

For that and other abbreviations commonly used here look at the fifth post on the NEWBIES thread.

For ideas on how to word a Subject Access Request, have a look at the first few paragraphs of the second post on that same NEWBIES thread.
I have sent a SAR to nexus group to the DPO, I presume the next step is to now wait for a response and request 30 days from dcblegal to seek advice? Do I sent this request near the 30 day response dead line ?
At this time of year it might be a good idea to send that 'I'm seeking debt advice so gimme 30days' email as late as possible to avoid sitting in the corner writing a Defence when everyone else is partying.

But send it at a time to suit your priorities.
Thank you I will do it a week or so before the deadline, is there anything else I need to do to acknowlege the case?
Also should I contact my MP if so what do I need to say.
Same with the land owner of the retail park its an investment company that own the land ?

The SAR and the hold request are all that is required

Your complaint to your local MP by email is a personal bespoke complaint and request for help , so you write it yourself or get a helper to assist you , no templates are provided for this , it's you telling them your story and complaining

Ditto with the landowner , a strong complaint , bespoke , no templates , trying to get the PCN cancelled ASAP
  • I will have to try and get some help with writing to them, could anyone give me any example letters to work from?
Also will the land owner even care as they just rent out the retail units ?

WRT the extra £70, read this

They have added what appears to be an extra unlawful amount for debt collection. This amounts to double recover and some Judges have dismissed an entire claim because of this. Read this and complain to your MP.

    Excel v Wilkinson

At the Bradford County Court, District Judge Claire Jackson (now HHJ Jackson, a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge) decided to hear a 'test case' a few months ago, where £60 had been added to a parking charge despite Judges up and down the country repeatedly disallowing that sum and warning parking firms not to waste court time with such spurious claims.   That case was Excel v Wilkinson: G4QZ465V, heard in July 2020 and leave to appeal was refused and that route was not pursued.  The Judge concluded that such claims are proceedings with 'an improper collateral purpose'.   This Judge - and others who have since copied her words and struck dozens of cases out in late 2020 and into 2021 - went into significant detail and concluded that parking operators (such as this Claimant) are seeking to circumvent CPR 27.14 as well as breaching the Consumer Rights Act 2015.   DJ Hickinbottom has recently struck more cases out in that court area, stating: ''I find that striking out this claim is the only appropriate manner in which the disapproval of the court can be shown''.

However, a VCS appealed this so it may not apply in all cases, read this

No there are no templates for writing to a landowner. Put it in your own words, like you did to us.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

I will draft up an email and post on thia thread and see what you think I can change or improve. Thank you
  • To whom it may concern.

    Dear landowner.
I am writing to you to complain about the appauling way I have been treated by the company Highview Parking ltd that operates on your land Broadcentre retail park.

Highview Parking has seen fit to pursue me for a parking charge notice from almost 6 years ago,

I was not even in the vehicle at the time and find the charge to be an unfair amount.
I am appealing to you to request this parking charge notice is waived.
    PCN ref-***********
    Yours sincerly

Would this be suitable to send to the land owner and a slightly altered version for the MP

To whom it may concern. -- remove this line.

Are you not going to explain why the vehicle was there? Without that, I suspect the landowner will file it in the bin.

Explain how the driver shopped there, spent £££ and was delayed by???.
Point out that you, your family and friends will be forced to shop elsewhere now that they have found that a visit comes with a £100 surcharge.

It was my girlfriend who was using the car but it was nearly 6 years ago so hard to remember the exact story I believe she was only in the car park for around 20 minutes she hadnt put a ticket on because for weeks previous the machines were out of order while they was installing new ANPR cameras.
