I must admit it's not my finest moment.D_P_Dance said:A bad bit of parking
If I mentioned I returned to move the vehicle after reading their signs only to find the PCN on the windscreen, is their a grace period allowed for doing this?
And if so how do I prove I was in that period and them disprove I was not?0

Yes there is a grace period, read their Code of Practice You do not have to prove stuff. that falls to themYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

I'm sorry but that photo is so damning I can't see how any defence would work unless you win on a technicality.
For that reason, I'm probably out. Good luck though and you may as well defend to get rid of the fake added £60.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you coupon-mad I appreciate your honesty.
With that in mind I'm guessing a judge won't take into account BPA/aos code of practice 13.1 regards grace periods?

I'm not sure you could park in almost any 'within the bay' car park with a vehicle that looks more akin to a safari outing in my neck of the globe, without copping a charge.Do you still have it?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi UmkomaasI'm afraid not as it was stolen not long after the picture was taken.
The police found it and the 4 thieves that took it, they went to court and got £140 pound fine each.
Bet they learnt their lesson and won't do that again in a hurry! 🤣
Insurance company wouldn't let me have it back
Hilarious that I'm going to have to pay more than double that for parking badly.1
-
More than double? No. I did say earlier, about the false £60 being disallowed. That's the point of defending in your case.
There is no grace period to park like that, sorry. You may want to tick yes to Mediation and think about an offer, and we never say that. Your decision!
You don't have to and there is no risk as long as you follow all court Directions and deadlines.
Certainly don't agree to a decision 'on the papers' for this one.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK so it looks like you're a landy driver who does go offroad😂
I agree that there is no way this is a runner even to check the signs as it's self evidently not a bay and the kerb had to be mounted to park, so the argument will be that the driver had to know.
That said, it is possible to admit part of a claim. This is where the terms on the sign are key and careful analysis may permit the o/p to pare it back to £1001

First of I would like to say thank you to everyone that has given me help and advice, I really appreciate it and Im really sorry for wasting your time that could of been spent helping someone with a claim that wasn't their fault.
It looks like I'm going to have to take it on the chin and put it down as a life lesson. (Let's face it I did park like a d*ck

While I have everyone's attention, a few friends (comically) suggested to name a foreign national as the driver.
That said, it is possible to admit part of a claim. This is where the terms on the sign are key and careful analysis may permit the o/p to pare it back to £100
Hypothetically if I did that and gave an actual address, what would the courts do?
Obviously this is hypothetical as I really don't have the minerals to try this.0
