The parts you add are vital, to tell the Judge what it is about.  Really important.

Ok so after reading a lot more of the forum I'm wondering if it might be better to change tack slightly.

After going back to the car park in question (bearing in mind this is 5 years since receiving the PCN on my windscreen)

There are no t&c signs on the car park entrance nor any between the entrance and where I've parked.

The only time I would of passed a sign would be after getting out of the vehicle and walking towards the shops.

If I said in my witness statement something like......

after exiting the vehicle the defendant was able to read a t&c sign and realised he would incur extra charges, he then promptly returned to his vehicle having been less than 5 minutes only to find a PCN already attached to his windscreen.

Would this be a stronger argument or are there any pit falls I've not seen?

Would it help if I posted some pics of the signs and/or lack off on this forum or would it not really be beneficial?

    Many thanks in advance

I've drafted a SAR letter but I'm not sure if it would help as the court date is just before the 1 calendar month dead line.
Is there anything else I should ask for?

    So this is the entrance,
the only sign as you enter the carpark regards parking is hidden behind the over height barriers

I've only just realised that sign was even there after reviewing the photos if I'm honest.

Here is a close up of their parking conditions....
