Well I am working today. Currently on lunch. My budget feels like it went out the window. Had extra food, meds and tissues delivered yesterday. Temperature checker not working so ordered extra batteries, covers and a new one in case the earlier stuff doesn't work.
DD still ill. Put a load of bedding in the wash for her. Washing at higher temperature than normal. Still no official results. My LFT was still negative today. Trying not to over stress about it.
Hope you are all having a good start to 2022....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hope you get the results soon, sounds like you're taking lots of really good precautions and hopefully the extra spends don't throw the budget too much x5

Thanks Dancing.
My results were confirmed as negative, DD's positive. If it keeps up - that suggests my booster worked and DD's was too close to the infection date to work... She still has a healthy appetite which is good. Loads of people at work have it or are self-isolating. I asked to borrow a neighbour's thermometer - as our's wasn't working - it suggested I had a temp of 32 - I gave it her backThe covers for our ear probe arrived today. My temp was high for me at 37.2 in one ear and 36.6 in the other. Apparently that's a thing - it can be different in different ears who knew... Very low battery though. I have batteries arriving tomorrow. Will get DD to use the oximeter later but she sounds reasonably 'bright'.
San*dr confirmed my switch had gone through okay. Said - if I meet their conditions - I will get payment within 60 days. It also let me finally access their cashback offers. There were only 5 - I thought there would be more. I signed up for them all but they weren't things I'd usually use so doubt they'll be of use.
I've downloaded a different video call system so I can speak to my counsellor over video later this week. Will see how that goes. Not sure whether she does a lower rate for remote. Will see.
I've had to cancel my cleaner for this week - which I feel guilty about although keeping the £ would be welcome. Just updated my finances - If I don't pay my cleaner more a different week to compensate - I'll just about stay debt neutral as long as I don't spend more than £20 on anything else before payday mid month. It does mean my EF has dropped though. If DD pays me back for special stuff I bought for her that would help but not 'banking' on it.

It's good news you've not got it and hopefully DD will stay perky.
Bank perks can be a bit funny, I'm not sure if S vary them for different customers like N does; sibling and I compare and we seem to get offers the other would use.
Fingers crossed your books can stay balanced.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Second pair of trainers came today in next half size up and I'm keeping them. I'm fully vaccinated and had a negative LFT so may go out for a little walk if the rain holds off long enough.
I've had a look at my finances
My finances went slightly wrong this pay period due to:
Unplanned spends (on points CC - not due this pay day period - but counted in debt neutral calculation)- £154 new trainers (2 pairs - not bought any for at least 6.5 years before that)
- £26 thermometer
- £9 ear caps for above
- £18 batteries (delivered)
Unplanned / Mis-timed spends on main account- £65 art supplies - (although £30 paid by voucher) - really enjoyed this though
- £140 extra - on food & miscellaneous - I'd planned for £260 due to Xmas but spent more like £400. In a normal month aiming for £160 or less. What's worse is that I bought extra in because I was due to have family over - and some of that will end up wasted. £62 was covered by voucher.
- £50 extra to pension - it looked doable - but perhaps should have waited. If I cancel the £50 I aspired to pay in Jan payday though it balances out so not too concerned.
I think for my first Xmas as a singleton - I haven't done too badly - particularly given that DD has been ill a lot recently with covid being only the latest in a series of illnesses.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Glad your test was negative and hope dd feels better soon!
I think you've done really well financially- holidays almost always end up more expensive than planned so I wouldn't worry 😉
Hopefully you can re-purpose the stuff you bought in for relatives - we ended up buying cheeses for dd that she didn’t eat much of (stuff with fruit in that dh won't eat) so I sent her home with it so that she could mix it into mash for shepherds pie (wensleydale with apricot) and crumble some into peppers before roasting (wensleydale with cranberries) - she thought I'd gone mental but has done both and loved them! 😉😂 Always worth thinking of random combos!!DNF: £708.92/£1000

Sorry to hear about your daughter and hope you continue to stay negative. I actually think it's really hard for the family members that don't have it because you spend the whole isolation period worrying about catching it. Fortunately the symptoms seem to be mild for most people.
