That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Thanks all - I really appreciate all the well wishes. Hope that your New Year is creative, prosperous and bright.
I had a nice lie in today after a lovely time with Sis and her family last night. Then picked up DD lunchtime - who had a fab time and saw loads of people she knew while out clubbing.
I set up the new BB router - 66mb speed today so a lot better. I've yet to test whether the printer will work or whether it will require special set up. Ex told DD special set up is required for the other booster plugs around the house but hoping that's not the case - I told her to sort it then... Will see what happens. Having some cottage pie from the freezer for lunch... Still have another left for another day. Defrosting some chicken for cooking later or tomorrow. I may make macaroni milk later too. I plan to do some baking this weekend ready for sis coming Monday.
Decluttering / Transforming my space:
The book I downloaded was called The Clutter Connection which suggests your personality type etc has a major impact on whether you need hidden or visible storage and whether you need lots of small categories or large categories instead. She suggests there are 4 main styles. It suggests I need to see (some of) my stuff as part of finding and sorting it and that macro solutions (something to chuck stuff into - with few categories) would work best. This explains my piles of clothes and empty wardrobe... I did get better at emptying the dishwasher once I put all my main use items in a cupboard right above it - where the door had fallen off. Similarly, I reduced over-buying when I put my tin cupboard at head height so it was easier to see what I already had...
She suggests for someone like me taking doors off storage - so it encourages you to actually put stuff away. I can see what she means as I have a hall cupboard but my natural tendency would be to walk past the closed door and hang stuff on the banister instead... Whereas I have an open 'shoe bookcase' right next to the front door and it works brilliantly. She suggests see through storage works best for someone like me. Need to think about how to apply it - and what see through storage I already have that I could re-purpose. I don't like everything on show - but I like to leave the things out that I use most. She also suggests putting storage where you use something the most... Who knew??? Rolls eyes and laughs... I'll let you know how I get on.
I'm planning to spend part of the weekend on art and part decluttering, tidying and cleaning. I have my sis and her family coming Monday. I bought some extra food yesterday ready so hopefully it will all work out. I've made a start on decluttering by throwing out one of my old pairs of trainers. I've also washed my bedding and have a second load in the washer. Hoping that the sheets end up back on my bed this evening and that I might actually put some of my clean clothes away once done! The dishwasher is also calling for my attention.
Health:
I've booked 2 balance classes for this week - to start off my increased focus on health this year. I also bought a couple of books on yoga yesterday with my vouchers in the hope it helps me also do some practicing at home. I put on weight over the holidays - but this week with a bit of focus I've lost 4lb of that additional gain already so happy with that. I have 1lb to lose to get back to my pre-holiday weight. I need to almost halve my weight to get back to a healthy weight though so a long way to go with that. I'm just starting small at the moment. I did buy a lot of fruit the other day - but need to use it for snacking instead of other more tempting options.
Wealth:
Fighting not to go out and spend money on lots of storage solutions... It would be better to reduce how much I have first in any case - and see what I already have! I've renewed some listings on FB and adjusted some prices. I've also re-listed a couple of items. It's a start.
