Hi Jwil and WD
Just dropped DD at her friend's house.
Mouth is still numb from the dentist but he took 35 mins instead of 50 so that was a relief. Will be glad when this first part is done which should be in two weeks time.
WD - My cleaner made the mistake of telling me today all the handyman type jobs she does at home... I can see me asking her for other stuff too moving forwards... She likes the variety so is happy enough. The bulb on the landing has a thing you have to unscrew before you can fit the bulb it's not just a 'plug and play' type one.
Going to have chicken casserole for tea - if I can eat with a rubbery mouth. Then I'm going to cook some mince and hopefully make cottage pie to take away with me. May also make some veggie pasta to take too. I plan to take some supplies with me to minimise what I have to buy while I'm there. I don't mind the odd meal out but don't want to eat out for the sake of it... Getting excited now. I did some washing today - but a second lot is still out on the line and there's no wind and little sun today so not making much progress. Will leave it out overnight and hopefully it will be okay. Will then do another lot tomorrow.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks @Mickyh-s
Well I made a cottage pie to take with me and two single portions to eat while still at home. I also turned some leftover rotisserie chicken from yesterday into cajun/jerk chicken, with potatoes, tomatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, sweetcorn, chopped tomatoes, jamaican jerk seasoning, paprika, garlic, cayenne pepper, dash of worstershire sauce and then topped with red Leicester cheese. It's in a dish to take plus made another single portion to either eat before or freeze. I've put both the bigger dishes in the freezer to make it easier to transport Friday.
I have to take DD to the train early tomorrow. I'm then going to shower and change and go into work. I will need to postpone next week's hygienist appointment. I need to move some planned meetings and give my apologies. I've rearranged the handyman.
Need to think what else to take with me. I'm going to take my laptop this time in case I want to do some writing. Will also take some art stuff. I still haven't tried some water colour inks that DS bought me back in May.

Your food is sounding fabulous.... Hope you have a great week away.
Can I steal your handyman ?
I do agree with the various comments on the house - the financial position of the house re your ex's feeling of missing out is irrelevant to your life now
- You need time to settle in and settle your heart and soul after big life changing events...
- I think your continued clean up and declutter of your home can help you really see the space and then you can make decisions... This is why I am liking this 30 days to clean and organized home as it is getting me to move forward other books and programmes havent. Even my mum is on it bit she is saying it will be more like 3 monthsDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Bon voyage @savingholmes; you'll come back refreshed. I think the subconscious saves things up to resolve during relaxed periods sometimes so you may well find you've reached some interesting conclusions. Love Humdinger xx4

If your cleaner wants to do some of the DIY and make extra money, why not propose it.
Enjoy your holiday.

Thanks MF, Left, Lady and @Humdinger1 and skint
I agree - that things come up when more relaxed. I also think if they are coming up now - it probably means I should allow myself time to process now too.
My car renewal premium would have been £326 for less cover - the sailor people.
Av*** quoted £406 with 10% existing customer for other stuff discount
£co got me a price of £288 with Av***.- even after upgrades to personal accident cover etc. I doubt I'll now get the £35 cashback but who knows.... Shows the new legislation to protect existing customers at renewal really isn't working!!! Just paid on points CC for the cashback.
