Thanks DIA, Dancing, @try_harder , beanie, jwil, MF
I think I was in shock yesterday - first from the gift and then the request for its return!!! Hopefully in a few days I will be able to laugh about it and it will all be sorted!! One of the things that was worrying me was that mortgage normally goes out the same day as pay day - but the bank always says make sure you have the £ in the day before - so I've been doing that - but can't until the £ returns. However because of Easter and weekends I'm paid earlier in April and May so should be fine even if worst case the £ doesn't come back to me. It's only panic making me doubt it's return I think...
I do get the £150 - but I'm having a week away in April - so that's going towards that. My CT went up £60 per year - so in real terms only £90 of that is still available - less if you could count how much gas and elec have gone up by in a single month. But yes the £200 on elec should help cover things if prices go up in October. I never got a response to my MP letter.
On the veggie suggestions - thanks MF. I've decided to take the kids out for a meal - as I committed to that when I first received the £. Probably ought to book a table.
Someone has expressed interest in my small shed on FB. If they come through that could be £60 in my pocket. When DS has gone I will see what else I can list and take some photos. Helps with the declutter mission as well as £.
Need to go and get dressed and then it will almost be time to collect DS.
Covid has been working its way through my extended family and has now reached my parents. Hoping they will come through okay. They are in the danger age group but have had all the vaccines. If it's not one thing it's another. They live too far away from all of us to easily help.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well after my rant on here the other day I thought I would give people a chance to have a bit of a laugh at my expense. Finally got access to my BG account. Ignoring the fact that they couldn't just do me a bill they had to cancel the last one & re-do the whole 3.5 months. They have only reduced my DD - only by £6 & I am waiting to be told they have made a mistake, because obviously I am so trusting. But yes they have reduced it. Totally gobsmacked. I have some spreadsheeting to do ---

Oh SH that must be worrying about your parents - fingers crossed they will be ok. With everything else going on as well that sort of worry is the last thing you need. Mine have both now had their 4th jabs - Dad was one of the very earliest I think and Mum had hers on Friday.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks @PiggyBankShaker @badmemory @Sunshine_girl2 and @EssexHebridean Thanks for the reassurances on covid. Let's hope for the best. Making art is my self care and I'm doing plenty of that.
The meal was lovely. Nice to catch up with DS. Last saw him mid Jan. Took him and DD for a carvery and then we went to the ice cream farm. The kids also asked to go to HobbyC so did that too - but they treated themselves there and I didn't spend anything else.
Saw Ex briefly he has lost shed loads of weight and is barely recognisable. He's trying to lose another 2 stone which seems extreme. He says its exercise and not eating / not eating so much. I gave him a bike rack as part of my decluttering mission. Ex sent his fleece car back - and bought a different one. Possibly for cash. DS is going to drive Ex's old car to sis and then bring it back for DD in a few days. Let's hope it's in better condition than it sounded.
The people collecting the shed are here. They've given me the £60 which literally will just cover today's spend. Hope they manage to get the shed off the base and I don't end up having to refund.
@badmemory glad your bill wasn't as bad as expected.

Ex is turning things around. I hope for DD's sake the car is better than imagined.
Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for family.
Have you joined HC as they seem to send £5 off on an almost monthly basis, or that how it feels.
@badmemory my supplier recalculated the first year I was here, I ended up in credit and still don't know why my bills were wrong when monthly readings were submitted.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Hi @savingholmes - been a bit absent with work, but your reassurances on my diary are very welcome, especially as you are doing so much and mainly off your own back. Everything seems to be heading in the right direction even if occasionally setbacks have to be dealt with
good luck on the decluttering, and I will try and catch up your goings on in March now I have a bit more time
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine6
