I want to get back to SW too, but want to go it alone rather than join a group at the moment."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

Thanks Jwil, Beanie, @MeandO and MF
Yes I'm tempted to go it alone but it's pretty much the same price - so will join an SW group and see how I go I think.
I've just opened a Regular Saver with NW to get up to 2.5% a year. I'm allowed 3 withdrawals. Paying in £200 a month. I've made my first payment from my EF - so effectively still EF. Thanks MF for prompting me - I will investigate what other accounts to use for savings.
It was literally freezing and snowing very lightly when I got up. So I've put the heating on for a bit. It wasn't on yesterday and my house was really cold. Sat now toasty with elec blanket on so will probably switch the heating off again soon. Will make sure I do readings for energy and submit them today.
It looks like I'll need to spend a bit more on CC than I wanted this month - but all 0% and will still end up with a lower balance than last month. Trying not to over-stress about it. Still need to order a new element for the oven. Either DD or one of her workmates has offered to fix it so hoping to keep that cost low.
Still need to list more things to sell on FB. I've bought some more masks - as with the current prevalence rate - I plan to keep using mine in shops / crowded places etc - but that was another tenner that wasn't in my budget.
Work are still unclear on what I'll be paid next month. Hopefully I will be paid the new monthly rate but they are still unsure if they can pay the backpay on time or whether that bit will slip back a month. It's really annoying as I know HR have done their bit in providing the right numbers but the payroll team / ICT system doesn't seem able to cope.
I had a good catch up with someone yesterday - including about a shared trauma - so it will be good to discuss that with the counsellor later.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm having a smile at @SandyShores post about the actress whose mother set the paperwork on fire in the oven. Sounds similar to something that I did. Someone was coming round one day, I had a dirty plastic container and had run out of time to wash it so shoved it in the oven to hide it. Of course, I forgot about it. Cue one melted plastic box, dripping through the wire shelves. It was remarkably easy to remove when it cooled down.
You're still doing great SH. Things seem to be ticking over for you. Hopefully you'll get the back pay this month. If not, you know it's coming so that's a battle you don't have to fight now.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Have a look at V as it's currently paying a 3% bonus on top of the usual 2%, I've not looked into the t&C's properly as I don't qualify for one. Again it's a good account to hold a £1k EF and the linked savings account pays 1%
I don't blame you for buying masks, one by one my mates / their mates are getting very ill.
Hopefully work will get their act together and sort the money out soon.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.8 -
Thanks for the info about the NW regular saver rate. My Sant one is about to mature - total of £4.73 interest for paying in £200 a month for a year (only 0.5% last year). I've just checked the maturity notice letter and it says the new interest rate will only be 0.5% again. Time to open up a NW one (I think you're talking NWide rather than NWest?)."Think of many things, do one"

Hope you’re ok SH and the counselling session went ok.
Thanks everyone for the discussions on savings accounts. It’s such a good idea to put the EF in a decent savings account, can’t believe I never thought of it - I just have mine with my bank. I’ve just checked - 0.01% interest!
