Sorry to hear about the oven. I feel the same 'two steps forward, one step back' as yourself with things going wrong in life.
Hope the new pruners helped to take out some of the broken oven frustration on the garden!Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £49,869.55

Is the oven definitely conclusively broken? 7 years old really doesn't seem like a good lifespan to me at all - most come with 5 year warranties these days so I can't imagine they are expected to last only another couple of years opast that point.
Jut keep an eye on Sh3ll in case they decide to go ahead to increase your DD anyway - as I think you know we had BB with them and they raised a charge for a non-returned router in spite of having had it back - if I'd not had the wit to cancel the DD once the service supply had finished they would have taken that money - as I'm still waiting for the refund from the overcharge at the end of the contract, I can't imagine how long we'd have been waiting to have got that bit back as well! I've no doubt they were trying it on to see if we'd notice either - as soon as I said on the chat that it had been returned, and when, it was an immediate "Oh yes, we'll get that credited". Had I NOT contacted them I suspect they would have wiped the credit we were owed but not actually bothered chasing the balance - but would still have been £22 up at our expense!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks Alchemilla, @MeandO and EH
DD is investigating whether one of her work mates can fix it. Seems to be the heating element. Not a named brand and discontinued so unsure if it will be possible. Emailed seller.

Thanks EH for the warning on Sh311 too. Will definitely watch that. Will submit meter readings Thursday.
@MeandO The pruning was very therapeutic. I plan to do more later.

If you've got any make / model details ask on the DIY board as they've a knack of identifying things and saying where to get parts from, then you could ask BIL to swap it over.

Have you considered just leaving the oven and getting a Ninja instead? I have used the oven twice since I got mine, although I do use the grill every now and thenDebt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k5 -
Love the artwork, great colours.
Interesting idea boxofpaws, I don't know much about Ninja's but Halogen ovens are good too. I had one, but let it go before we moved as I was worried about having enough space (miss it though as it kept my oven and grill nice and clean).
I'm sure I read an article a few years ago about an actress who used to store her paperwork in the oven as she didn't ever use it. I think her mum came to stay and set it on fire though!"Think of many things, do one"

Thanks all - I just lost my reply!!!
Hopefully DD / her work mates can fix the oven. That's the current plan.
I blew the budget as my parents came over unexpectedly / at short notice and I bought treat food and a gift. I also bought Easter treats. I now have no unaccounted for £ between now and pay day mid month. I'd forgotten to budget for mother's day or Easter. Oops!! I went in the shop and spent twice as much as planned which is why I tend to get it delivered / send others in for me!!
I need to list & sell more stuff on FB. I need to eat from the freezer more! I batch cooked chicken and mushroom pasta. I may freeze some - as I'm not sure I want it 4 times in a week - and it goes off quickly anyway. If I buy any fuel - that will need to be on a CC or from savings. CC healthier than last month though so all relative.

I am thinking of joining SW as the new tablets aren't making much difference. There's a Monday group so that could work. That could be my April focus.
I am going into work today so hopefully that will be nice. DD has the day off and is having a friend over so good timing.
I have blisters on my hands from pruning so need to pace myself better or wear gloves.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
