I had the same assumption that my DCs would fly the nest at 18 via uni but only one has so far! I agree that striking that balance between supporting independence and freeloading is tricky.

The top was pen the bottom four watercolour. Monochrome seems more forgiving.

I think I had a bowl similar to the colourful design - very pretty.

My DS is 23 soon, works full time but it's 0 hours contract despite 40 hours a week for years.  He pays me money each month and realises how much more he would pay living independently, I recently told him he would have to pay extra due to the rise in energy bills and he was fine with that.  I would like to think he's saving for a home one day but I think it's all going on clothes and holidays...

I left home at 18 as I couldn't wait to get out in the world.  I expected LMG to be the same, however, she tells me that she has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon.  She knows she has it good.  She also says she doesn't want to live alone.  I might have to start doing auditions for potential suitors.  I'll wait until she's 25 (3.5 years) then if she's still here I'll consider it.
