  • Another advantage of using price protectr is that the email it sends you to notify you of the price reduction also includes a link to the amazon page you need to request the refund (which i can never find myself).

This thread has meant some wonderful gifts for my family this year i will be voting for it for post of the month - just hope I can find the link.

Thanks to all the posters in this thread for adding new bargains and advising about the 30 day refund etc :T

Hear, hear! How do I vote? My daughter has got over £250 worth of stuff put away for her birthday, cost to me £49. :T
  • My Creepy 14" bike came today minus one of the stabliser bolts :(

Rang Raleigh shut until 2/1/08. I presume they can send me a bolt for free?

I have sent Amazon an email too.

I don't want to get stuck with it or have to pay Raleigh to send me a bolt, anyone had experince of missing parts from Amazon or raleigh before?

    Thanks

A bit off topic I know but has anyone else been having delivery problems with Amazon lately?

I understand about the time of year etc but they have let me down big time over Christmas over a few deliveries, even when I've paid for special delivery.

I'm talking about orders from the Main Amazon warehouse not Jersey etc btw.

Latest is an order I placed yesterday (plenty in stock, plenty of time before the despatch deadline) by special post for 'guaranteed delivery' by 1.00 PM today, it still hasn't been despatched and it now has an the estimated delivery date of 1st Jan which presumably wont happen on a Bank Holiday.

This is so annoying as I have been telling my sceptical friends and family just how easy and efficient internet shopping can be and actually some of these have been ordered on their behalf.

    Complete pain in the a*se!

Just noticed while looking at my account that the 'special delivery' postage charge has been refunded because it obviously is not going to arrive on the 29th but rather the 1st Jan (maybe?) - fair enough.

But what I find galling (and possibly illegal) is the statement that 'We are preparing these items for dispatch and this part of your order cannot be cancelled or changed'

I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my face on this occasion but should'nt I be able to cancel it anyway because they have broken our contract as special delivery would be deemed as an explicit part of that contract?

I have had absolutely no problems with the 5 parcels that Amazon dispatched to me just before Christmas which all arrived by the 23rd.

You can return the items if you are not happy with any part of the sale for a full refund. You have already had a refund on the P&P charge.
  • I think you are missing the point jayok, the goods havent been despatched so why do I not appear to have an option to cancel.

This order was placed about midday on the 28th with a guaranteed delivery before 1 pm on the 29th. Now I'm being told that despatch will be on the 29th or 30th with a delivery date of 1st Jan (oh yeh)

Do Amazon not deliver on Monday 31st?

The main reason I shop at Amazon is because of the convenience and I rely on delivery days being accurate. My wife happens to be off next week so other than the disappointment of not having the item it is not a problem as such, but any other time of year it would be with us both working full time.

Your suggestion that I can return it is ridiculous really, what is the point of that? If it hasnt been despatched why cant it be cancelled?

The tone of your reply suggests that I'm lucky to be getting the item at all and stop the moaning, after all you got your postage refund, what more do you want?.

They state that when the order is being packed, you cannot cancel... every shop states this. If you do not want the goods, they can be returned. Why would you want to cancel if you wanted the goods?
