One of my christmas purchases has dropped in price within the 30 days - how do I request a refund of the difference please?

I ahve spent a frustrating 5 minutes trying to find it on Amazon but give up now!

    thanks

    Moam

You need to email them! Go to 'Your Account' and click on 'Thinking of Returning An Item' Then look on the right hand side of the screen and you will see contact us. Tell them your item has reduced and you would like a refund of the difference. You need to quote the order number, which you will find in the Orders section.

They will email you back later confirming the refund.
    Cheers

Just out of interest, is it 30 days from the time you purchased an item or 30 days from the time you received the item?

Some people only dream of angels, i held one in my arms.
    Praying this baby makes it.
  • I would give it a try, I was well out of the 30 day window but emailed just in case and got an automatic refund with no questions. I didn't mention that I was out of time just emailed them with the order details.

    From my refund email -

"We are only able to adjust the price of an order in instances where
less than thirty days have passed between the date on which an order
was dispatched and the time that an item is reduced in price on our
    site."
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

I still got mine after 30 days, if you don't ask you don't get.

i dont think their 30 day rule applies to december purchases due to christmas shopping.

also, little tip for you if you're checking amazon for reduced prices...

everything that youve bought from them, put it back into your basket.

firstly, you can immediately check the price BUT, if you log in again tomorrow, and one of your items has been reduced, a message appears on the screen! its a quick and easy way to check your prices. (much easier than manually checking each day)

If you see something has reduced in price:-

    1. Click ‘help’ located at the top right of the screen.
    2. Click the ‘customer service’ button located under ‘contact us’ located in the middle right hand side of the screen.
    3. It will then ask you to login to your account.
    4. On the Express tab, search for your item (if its not on the first screen, click the arrow to take you to previous orders)
    5. When you've selected your item (click the tick box) then click "contact amazon"
    6. Select the Refunds and Returns option.
    7. In the large box just state that the item you bought cost £x.xx and now its £x.xx and you would like a refund of the difference.

they should then email you to confirm it!

an easier way is to copy and paste the url of each item as you buy it and put it into priceprotectr - they check constantly and email you when the price drops, and again if it keeps dropping. That way you can forget about all the items you bought and just wait and hope for an email. It's brilliant.
  • Another advantage of using price protectr is that the email it sends you to notify you of the price reduction also includes a link to the amazon page you need to request the refund (which i can never find myself).

This thread has meant some wonderful gifts for my family this year i will be voting for it for post of the month - just hope I can find the link.

Thanks to all the posters in this thread for adding new bargains and advising about the 30 day refund etc :T
