Hi I'm looking for a desktop that would comfortably run these minimum specs, its Football Manager 22.
Could anyone recommend a desktop, under £150 would be great.
Other than FM22 it would be used for usual web browsing, Youtube videos and some MS Word.
Thanks.
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 7 (SP1), 8/8.1, 10 (Update 1903/May 2019 or later) – 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core 2 or AMD Athlon 64 – 1.8 GHz +
- Memory: 4 GB RAM

Yeah, 4Gb of RAM won't be enough for Windows, never mind anything else.
8Gb is a minimum.

Thats probably the minimum spec, to get a decent framerate you will probably want to step up a few levels
in each area.
4GB RAM running windows and a browser will eat all that and it will be constantly swapping data between the
RAM and drive, slowing everything down.
Game spec didn't look demanding only 7GB to install the game but windows is not exactly streamlined for low
memory usage. I have 2 Firefox windows open with 7 tabs in total and its using 5.8GB
That link is similar to the SFF (Small Form Factor) machines on ebay for under £100, 8GB one for under £150
in a proper case.
I would look at 16GB if you want it to last, they are on ebay for similar money to that 4GB one. But 8GB
at the least.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -
Appropos of nothing really, but I have run my old-ish W10 laptop(s) for many years now with 4GB of memory and the paging file disabled with no problems - browsing, video watching even video conversion etc (but no gaming).1

IMHO you cant go wrong with these DELL SFF 7010 Pcs - I have a couple, been very happy with them
compact, quiet, lots of USB ports
get one with an SSD in !

Not specifically recommending that supplier, just using as an example of the pick and mix nature of the PCs available1 -
For your information, MS stop support Win 10 in 2025.
I do not recommend you buying any PC older than intel i5 8th gen or AMD Ryzen 3rd gen.
And when choosing old PC, always go for standard tower if possible2 -

There are of course, other operating systems.
It's a shame FM22 is not available under Linux, but there are plenty of Steam games that are.
With the advent of the Steam Deck, by 2025 I'd expect to see many more titles on Linux.
