This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about
everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great,
inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old
Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already.
Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check
the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style
natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Good morning, Friday already, how the weeks fly.Ruby, thanks for giving us Nels' good news, I'm so pleased for her.TA sorry to hear you were disturbed early by the phone, as someone else suggested call filtering would help, all the big phonecompanies have call filtering schemes. A couple of friends of mine have them and they're no longer disturbed by rubbish calls.Hope Sparkle is ok.Snoozer, hope Steve will be all right. We had a lively day with dgs yesterday, so you would think that I would sleep like the proverbial last night, but not so. My eyes sprang open at about 3.30 (It's often about then ) and refused to close, so I'm up. I'll be drooping by this afternoon.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thinking of our poorly people.Take care folks.15

Morning All
Thanks for the start scarlet, have a nana nap later!
Busy day yesterday, work was manic as usual, return a parcel, haircut then a lovely dinner with a friend for a catch up. I was exhausted when I got home and couldn't get up so no swimming this morning. I'll go for a walk later to take the soft plastics to the recycling bin.
Still damp and miserable out, a glimpse of the sunshine would be nice but I think we have to wait until Sunday for that, I'll save washing the bedding until then.
Thinking of the poorlies and those struggling with life in general, enjoy Friday if you can. Take care.XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. You beat me this morning, I managed to reach 4.00 a.m. before I was wide awake. So frustrating!
Re call blocking, my friend mentioned she had it a while back but, as far as I can recall, I have never been offered this service. I am with Virgin and have looked on online help and can't find mention of it. If anyone knows different let me know as I am getting a bit sick of these nuisance calls all hours of the day (and night!)
It was the usual £60 odd at the vets yesterday and, as expected, it was another steroid jab. But we now have a reprieve after all the fortnightly visits, we are back in a month! But he is pleased to see her looking better and we are now back to the keeping it under control regime after the nasty flare up.. It's something that will never be cured but, at best, kept under control. She's proving a very expensive adopted cat!
DD and I then took Sparkle back home and set off to do a bit of shopping. Great excitement, we also went to Aldi! I was a regular shopper there pre Covid and have been having withdrawal symptoms! I went wild in the aisles stocking up on their stuff I have been deprived of! Sadly a couple of my favourites are no longer on the shelves.
Needless to say I was too worn out to start the pre Friday Tidy by the time I had got home and put everything away so i have the whole shebang today. Kitchen, bathroom and dust and vacc up and down and all around. I never seem organised these days.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and recuperating (NELS that means you, I hope you managed to get home and coping ok) Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning folks. It's been blustery all night and still blowing away. Yesterday I was so cold even when wrapped in the heated throw so I light the wood burner and was promptly too hot for comfort. I had to retreat to the back sofa for a while.Nothing much happened though my dreams are making up for it, there was so much going on last night. I don't normally remember my dreams so all that's coming back is chasing escaped sheep! This morning I'll be chatting to my SIL and friend in Oz, a three way conversation sometimes gets difficult but it's worth it.Snoozer - good to hear that Steve is fine after his op.
TA - I hope that Sparkle behaved herself yesterday.Welcome home Nelski!Taff - are things in Wales now finished?
Dumpling - how are you?Happy Friday to all.15 -

Not quite as cold here today which is nice, I am another who had a really bad night I was still awake at 2 this morning so I feel like a wet rag this morning, but I have to go to work, I think I over did it in my cafe yesterday I did 5 hours and I was so tired so I shall do a bit less today, although I am going to put the Christmas tree and decs up with the clients today so should be a good day.
Spoke with Nels yesterday she is home ! and very content to be there, I have warned her not to do too much and to take things easy for a good while !
Not sure about dinner tonight possibly spag bol or chilli something nice and quick as I am sure I will be shattered by tonight.

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Scarlet and hugs to all those in need.
I did well this morning and slept until 5, that's quite a lie in for me. Tesco shop arrived on time yesterday and much more sensible than Steve's last attempt which contained mainly chocolate and sesame seeds!
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.Chin up, Titus out.11 -

Hi everyone,
Steve is in the garden talking to the tree surgeon in the garden over the back. Thankfully it seems as if they are taking the tops of the leylandii again so we will get a bit more light. It's very frustrating when they grow and throw all the garden into shade.
I managed to get through to the Dr first thing. I think I was the first caller now I have worked that I don't have to listen to the recorded message before pressing the number for reception. Update, the prescribing nurse has just called and has sent a prescription to the chemist for me, she was quite happy to accept that I probably have a chest infection given that I have had them before.
We're going up to Yorkshire today to make good the bathroom after the boiler was changed. I'm going to have to have a nap before we go because I'll have to drive and I had a very broken night with my cough. Steve has his flu jab at last this afternoon so we will go after that. We'll come back on Monday.
Havee a good day.

Morning, hugs if you need one.
So pleased to hear that Nels is home, take it steady, remember Rome wasn't built in a day!! Its so easy to overdo things when you find yourself free!!
Missed yesterday, not sure why, did not realise I had not posted until late evening.
I broke the mould and slept quite well for a change, woke a couple of times but managed to get back to sleep. After a run of broken nights it was very welcome.
Bright but cold day, the sun is shining but no real warmth. I got towels dry outside yesterday.
Gardener due today, last bit of clearing up, some pots to empty and some plants to repot, the green house will need watering as well and I have to pick the green beans. The spare pots need to be stored behind the shed until we need them in the spring.
Fish and chips tonight, finished the rasps in jelly yesterday, so no dessert.

Morning from a wet and misty mehefinland
Just popping in
had hoped to get a glimpse of the lunar eclipse but the weather had other ideas!
Finally got scoobymare sorted yesterday with a brand new set of eggbar shoes. She was going lame quite often, and as her feet grew and the pressure on the hoof eased would gradually become sound again. Its an expensive experiment which could be the answer to her problems in the long term. We will see.
Sallylabrador is deteriorating and is bumping into things more and more. She seems content enough in other ways. Just try opening a cupboard door!!
Blackie cat ( barn cat and very much an outdoor girl) has discovered the cat house and has taken up residence. Bit of a relief as there is a lot of fox activity here currently. The eyes in the dark.
Get booster Tuesday next so that will be fun. Stories of very long queues here. Hopefully it be too bad
thats about it
Hugs and spoons as always
Hope Nels has got her emergency supply or Soreen sorted
