This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about
everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great,
inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old
Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already.
Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check
the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style
natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning All
Thanks for the start scarlet, enjoy the rest while you can!
Hope your ear is better dp1.
I bet you're more than excited Carolbee, when do you travel?
Wet again this morning, didn't go for a walk as it was raining too hard, hopefully it'll be better later. The washing is on the pulley again, may have to finish it in the TD later.
Work was very busy again yesterday, we have a system for ordering lunches that doesn't do what I want it to or what it should, very frustrating.
Hope everyone's well or recovering, take care. XX14 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's dry and dark this morning and that's to be the story of the day says the weatherman. November has brought a run of those sort of days.
As always I enjoyed my Tuesday meet with oldest friend but a bit disappointed with my lunch. The skinniest bit of fish I've ever had! Although what there was of it was nice!
Off and away today for bus trip day and of course lunch 'n wine. Only two of us today, our other friend has her sister's funeral. She asked if we would postpone to next week as she missed last time too. But rather than cancel today we two are still going and having an extra one next week.
I enjoyed last night's GBBO but surprised at the result. A difficult decision but I think they made the right one. Although without the benefit of taste-a-vision who knows!
Great excitement CAROLBEE! A friend down the road has just booked for Oz too, although she's not going until March. She's the same, not been for two years and pre-Covid she was going twice a year to stay with DD and DGDs. My best friend is equally excited as her DS face timed last w/e to say he is flying over to spend Christmas and NY with them. It's been far far too since they saw him.
Have a lovely day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all
Very cold here this mornng and damp although not raining, we had a nice day yesterday without strange manager, we still got a lot done but its just a nicer atmosphere without him there.
Off to work today and I am going to do a couple of hours in my cafe just to get used to it again, my new (old) manager is already making me cross, she asked me yesterday to change my Fridays off throughout Dec to a Thursdayim not best pleased but have said I will do it till christmas but not after, I am waiting for my new contract which should state Mon - Thurs and then that is what I will do ! I dont mind changing days off very occasionally but there is a reason I asked for Fridays off as I am always super tired by then and need a rest day.
Lamb casserole for dinner tonight I will put it in the SC before I go to work, dd has a veggie version and I will put that in the oven once I get home as it wont take as long to cook.
Snoozer I hope Steve's op went well xxx
Have good days all xxx15 -
Morning folks.Yes, wet here too. Not yet as wet as yesterday but there's time. I only went out because my neighbour had left something behind on Sunday so I dropped it off. That was enough for me. The earthquake made national news yesterday, it seems to have centred only eight miles away. It didn't wake me but across the estuary it had boomed loud enough to wake my gardener.Carolbee - I'm sure it's all a huge faff just now but it'll be so worth it to see the family again. 🎉
Nels - lovely news about your improving health. Keep it up. 🌺
Bella - it's good that your trades have turned up and getting the work done. It'll be so good to have it finished.
Today I only have a little bit of shopping to do. I'm never keen on Christmas normally, only really did it for my DM, so this year I'm even less in the mood and hoping it'll all pass me by.Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Wednesday to all.15 -
Morning all chilly but dry this morning just waiting for the paver and then i will walk the dog . Tidy up today and a hoover round other than that nothing pressing.
Carol bee how lovely I am very jealous the hoops to jump through now are huge to go in and out of the country and the form filling is eyewatering for some countries but it will all be worth it
TA enjoy your lunchtime wine and dine
Ruby when you get your contract be sure to check if it states your day off can be changed due to needs of the business then unfortunately there will be nothing you can do if they decide to change the day you have off, this happened to a friend of mine x
Right better get a shifty on have a good day one and all stay safe and look after yourselves x
