This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about
everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great,
inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old
Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already.
Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check
the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style
natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I am currently simmering! 7.05 and just had a rubbish call on the landline informing me my postcode had been selected for a gift card. He got very short shrift I can tell you - especially at that time!! I am beginning to think it's time to pull the plug on it as it's the only calls I get on it and most folk use my mobile anyway. Grrr, sorry rant over!
So we have a very mild start here and its forecast 14 deg, before the temps plummet next week. Strange weather with no two days alike.
Another very pleasant bus day out yesterday and yet again ended up in Ilkley. Much browsing but thankfully no spending, other than our wine 'n dine lunch. Today's jaunt is to the vets AGAIN!! The anti b's have improved her skin but the allergy is now erupting under her chin so I think it will be the steroid injection this time. (I'll be round with the begging bowl later!!)
The Thursday pre-Friday clean may, or may not, get done when we get home. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx
Good news about NELS, home at last. Thanks RUBY for keeping us updated.

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
Great news about Nelski.
I got up at 7, dog walked, another load of washing done, cooked some chicken for lunch as Steve has a friend visiting. I need to wait until the water is warm, then turn the immersion off so I can use the vacuum. The power keeps tripping because next door still can't get to grips with the limitations of boats life and they trip our power too.Chin up, Titus out.13 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for asking, Steve came through the op very well and the eye is fine. I was a bit worried because my Nan lost her eye after a cataract op that went wrong, although I didn't say anything to Steve, he's enough of a worrywart as it is.
I went down to spend the day with Esben yesterday, he is developing into such a little character with quite a sense of humour for his age. We went to a singing session, followed by a craft activity at the local library although they both felt as if the people leading them were just paying lip service to someone else's idea and their hearts weren't really in it.
I feel as if I am losing a battle with the cough and might need to contact the Dr for a prescription, deep joy at the prospect of doing battle with the hundreds of others trying to get through at 8am tomorrow, if you can't get though by 8.15 you can kiss goodbye to the prospect of talking to a health professional.
So I shall take it easy today and see if my body can fight it off.
Great news, Nelski, I hope it all goes well.
Have a good day.

Morning! Front garden cleared of dead and dying plants, green bin full waiting to be emptied. I did the compost bin yesterday, emptied the good stuff, put the undone stuff back in and threw some more on top. The stuff I took out is waiting in a wheelbarrow to throw on the front garden today. Made the meatballs, unfortunately, the spice was not playing well with my stomach so OH will have to finish it and I'll have something from the freezer, maybe some liver and bacon in Nelski's honour. I've done an online shop for the weekend [ and done mainly because I put all the bottles of stuff in there for Christmas, lemonade, etc] and I have yet to start the sanding of the dresser, might do it today if it stays dry.Ruby, how nice they are pleased to see you, makes a difference if you know you make a difference...TA, good luck at the vets..Florence, as long as they ate them and didn't complain, it's win win
snoozer, hows Steve doing? And congratulations on coming home Nelski, must be a real relief to be there, let's hope they continue the support too....Have a good one all, drink hot toddies, eat maltesers....
