Evening all
Still very cold here, but the house is snug. I'm having an early night tonight, totally worn out with all the chaos at work. I started 30 mins early & left 30 mins late, spent the whole day rushing from room to room & still got loads of exams to do. I also realised we have a big event on at school on the first day back, when exactly am I meant to produce all the progams etc? I've asked if there is anything prepared & the plan seem to be that I'll do it on the first day back, I can't see that's going to be possible, but DILLIGAF!!
I was given a bottle of wine today by a teacher who is leaving, I never buy any wine or chocolate for Christmas til after we break up, as I'm always given so much. There are some good point to my job!
We have our Christmas lunch at school tomorrow, whether I get to it or not remains to be seen & then tomorrow evening it's my W.I. Christmas meeting, so there will be food there too.
Have a good evening everyone.
Hugs Hester

Twink - the 'good old nativity' is no longer PC - it might offend children of other faiths
Is this really true? All the schools on our county are still doing nativities.
Kyle....I hope your back is better soon. x
Twink....I had a peek in the Granny's book today at your recipe.:T If you got royalties I would buy it but as not I will just search for the recipe on here.

Stef...Glad everything turned out well at work yesterday.
Thanks for the comments about the cards.
OH and the girls have just feasted on party food from the freezer to make room for Christmas stuff and I had liver and bacon. (yellow stickered and I'm the only one who eats it)
Have managed to bribe him into going to get the girls' cameras which I spotted today i exchange for buying himself a bottle of wine while he's there.
All he has to do is pick them up as I did all the hunting and price comparisons. Thank goodness the rest of the present shopping isn't up to him.
Luckily he works very hard and provides well so I may overlook it.
Can't decide whether to write my cards or have a bath.
Decisions, decisions.

Sorry not to have been in touch today and only briefly dipped in - it was one of those crisis management days dealing with situations as they arise!
The local paper is out tomorrow and they have been asking some searching questions. Person involved had written the debriefing and it was so inaccurate that we were proof reading and changing things tonight until 5.30 pm (I had been in since 8.00 am with no lunch break).
All of you deserve special mention (and love and hugs to you all) but can I just say:
keep your chin up JackieO - sorry to hear that DGS not too good. Hope things get sorted out there.
PenPin - glad you have the heating sorted. You must not get cold. So sorry to hear about the chook. I do know there is something to do with hens and egg retention.
Haribo - your cards are lovely. I am supposed to be finishing our card writing off tonight but I am rather tired. Hopefully will get second wind.
Aussie - well, I am trying to picture you running around Lamb Island with feathered headdress wielding your tomahawk! Thank goodness you didn't do that when you stayed in the East Neuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would have had to put out an all points bulletin for the family over there! Please get DH checked out just in case a problem with infection.
Kyle - sorry to hear back still giving you problems. What caused the problem in the first place? Twink - glad the hairdo went well as did the playgroup outing today.
Glad everyone is having lovely times with all the Christmas celebrations and nativity plays etc.
Sorry if I haven't mentioned anyone else, but I am thinking of you all and care about what going on.
love and hugs to you all.

Good evening everyone,
PP - sorry about your chicken, and hope you will warm up with the heating on!!!
Hillstep - glad your mum will be getting her tube soon!
Haribo - those cards are lovely!!!
Kyle - hope your back feels better soon xx
JackieO - ((HUGS)) to you and your DGS
Well, thought it was all frosty this morning, but it wasnt, so thats good. Went to Tesco and ended up spending £95!!!! However, DSs weekly magazine which came with 6 'free' gifts cost £9.99 instead of the normal £1.80!! Yep, free gifts, right!! I also stocked up on loo rolls, washing powder etc, so i shouldnt need to do a big shop for a very long time now.
The school production this afternoon was lovely - the infants did a version of a nativity - where 3 trees that wanted to be turned into something important were made into a box, walking stick and a animal feeder. Then the play explained how the box brought a gift for Jesus, the walking stick helped Joseph get Mary to Bethlehem, and the animal feeder ended up as the manger baby Jesus slept in - it was lovely. DD didnt have a role in her classes performance, but she was a singer ad i know she did a great job!!! DS was very funny in his play and it all went really well, im looking forward to getting the dvd of it! He is very good at public speaking (speaks well and clearly) tomorrow they start practicing for next weeks Christingle, it will be his last one, so i think he is hoping to get some passages to read out.
We have just got back from DSs football training, the good thing about this time of year is that it is inside the local school, rather than outside, so we actually have warmth and a place to sit!!!
OK, hope everyone has a lovely (warm) evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Tasty pork chops with grilled tomatos and chips............very tasty. What I hadn't realised that pork chops were part of half a pig purchased from local farm chappie !! So now we have chunks of pork being jointed up all over kitchen worktop..................!!
Yet another phone call from insurance chappie..............I only put details in a couple of possible sites for quotes............oh eck, now they'll all be ringing me up !! Oh well, if I get cheaper house/contents insurance at the end of it'll be worth it:T
One boy glued to tele................other gone out with girlfriend...........all is at peace (apart from the sound of OH chopping up meat !)
Mental note for tomorrow:.....Must do paperwork/wash hair/sort out what to pack for weekend/sort out christmas cards to take with me and pressies and washing...............must not forget washing !!!!!!!
Me hopes tomorrow will run more smoothly than today................oh and bird still somewhere in the boiler room
Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Alas, yes, Haribo. The paper said that only 1 in 5 primary schools are doing the nativity this year
.
You live in Ireland though don't you? That would explain it, you still have common sense and a GSOH over there!
We put some chairs on Freecycle yesterday and they have now gone :j.
Oh yes, and OH got arrested today. Yes, thats right, the police arrested him whilst he was out doing his job   . They kept him for an hour until they had checked his details. I am so angry - unfortunately my OH is an easy target for the police as he drives a battered Peugeout 106 van and has a little beard, so they always think he is a terrorist/illegal immigrant. I will be writing a very strong letter of complaint. We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
