Morning all,
It is a bright and beautiful day here, the LR door is flung wide open which is unheard of for this time of year.
Children away to school, WUDUPA, x1 WM on the line, poo picked and general gibble rehomed. Brekkie now, then I need to visit the post box and do some admin.
GWS Valli xx
Iona - sending you big hugs lovely xx
Fayolle - last day of leave? I think a Bucks Fizz is in order, followed by a good read of a book and a nap xx
Love to all xx11 -
ASB I'll sort out that business for you as talked about in your email after my cuppa. I can use it for my HHCMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

All side effects need to be reported because it is all still in trial phases and it is important data. The reactions are so massively variable I think anything can be covered at the moment. I hope is goes down again soon
OH sorting the DW while he does his work food. He is hanging washing out next
I am off to find parcels after my cuppa.

Sorry to hear that you're no better, Valli. Would a drinking straw help you to increase your intake of water? Take a sip, put your head back and let the water trickle down your throat, rather than swallowing hard - we don't want you shrivelling up and ending up on a drip.
Natty, it is really very naughty of you to cancel the Dr's phonecall.. I hope he calls you back anyway. You need reassurance, not more worry.
Thanks for the hugs, asb and Fayolle. I am OK, just floundering in admin after another week of putting DH's needs first. I swear that my list is getting longer - and I long to have some time to my hobbies.
So far this morning I have
- phoned my own bank and sorted out the telephone banking, memorable name and credit card activation all in one phonecall with a very helpful young woman who showed enormous patience when I was more-than-momentarily stumped by the need for a memorable name with 8 letters or more (all my usual ones are only 7 letters)
- made fridge surprise soup for lunch (hopefully enough for at least 2 days)
- boiled up the chicken carcass for stock for tomorrow's risotto and given Rosie some of the chicken skin as an extra treat
- got fish out of the freezer for tea (Rosie loves fish skin too)
- filled the DW and S&S'd the kitchen
- told DH I do not want more table mats or plates, even if they happen to match the mugs he bought last year (which hold less than a tea cup). If he wants to buy me a birthday or Christmas present, it has got to be something that I actually need or want, or else a consumable. I am decluttering in order to make life simpler and flying easier, not to make space in the cupboards for more tat, however beautiful!
- wiped down the bathroom and ensuite
- made 2 beds (DH appears to have become incapable of making his own)
- done a 5-minute pickup downstairs (except the man cave, which is a disgusting pigsty, and I refuse to touch it - not that DH would let me in anyway)
- emptied all the bins, including the one in DH's man cave: "No, it doesn't need emptying, it's not full yet." "Yes it does, particularly with all the tissues you've been using."
- done WMx2 of 3.
I am determined to get rid of some of the paperwork in my study and cross some phonecalls of my list before lunch so I had better crack on.
There are spare spoons in the jar by the hob if anyone needs one or two... xx

Useful gifts I have given include vouchers for me to go and clean a bathroom, jars of jam, home made. Wine/champagne and gin. Fancy fruity vinegars and preserves, locally made. With you ALL the way on consumables.
What could your DH give YOU? Car wash vouchers...either he washes it or someone else does - or even a full valet!
Pre order bouquets to be delivered every month.
Vouchers for afternoon tea somewhere really posh (and, obvs, expensive) - luxuries!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Thanks, Piggers, I might be back with more questions, like how many stitches for a scarf…!
ASB - thank you for giving me permission to read and lounge about - I feel too guilty usually, but today is so dull and miserable, that your suggestion is gratefully received xx
Natty, I hope that the dr calls you back anyway xx. Iona is right, as usual
Iona - with you all the way - no more tat that I don’t need. I have suggested to DH that we “give” each other a surprise day out, and it has to be before mid February, or we won’t do it. Just a walk, a trip to the coast, or suchlike, doesn’t even need to cost a penny. It is work in progress as he wants to buy me something that I don’t need…
I have spent this morning making lists. Love a list. I have sorted my Mr M deliveries until mid December, meal planned, fridge and freezer sorted. DH was sent to the local butcher, which is a high risk strategy but he will learn (DH not the butcher!) and excelled himself by coming home with a HUGE bag of scrag end of lamb for a fiver, and ys veg from the local c00p. Slow cooker here we come.
Window in study measured for blinds. Just need to order them to get the discount that I’ve been holding out for.8 -
Thanks for the gift ideas, Valli.
I have just bought some rather appropriate alternative gifts. "Antibiotics for an emergency" for a friend who recently had sinusitis and decluttered her husband's ABs which (as he has a serious heart condition) he is allowed to keep for an emergency, but which were on the verge of going OOD. (She did say that they were the type that her GP prescribes for her too!) And cocoa saplings for DSiL who lives in York, within sight of the Chocolate Works. I usually buy each of them an amaryllis, which they both enjoy, but last year the postage costs were exorbitant.
DH has just gone out to get his car washed. I don't think he would offer to do mine himself!
The fridge surprise soup was delicious
I haven't forgotten about the Flylady Secret Santa - by the end of the weekend I will PM those who have said they want to take part, so please make sure there is room in your inbox.
Back to my list...8 -
Fayolle said:Thanks, Piggers, I might be back with more questions, like how many stitches for a scarf…!Well that all depends on what yarn you are using and how wide you want it! I have some gorgeous Scheepjes Chunky monkey which is really thick aran and feels beautiful and soft but is very thick.. and some stunning rainbow laceweight which is like knitting with sewing thread but beautiful and flowy and delicate.3 parcels heading to the post office.. right.... now...LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9

Pleased you have been vindicated Piggers, and that you have a diagnosis.
Now for the support...
I have been napping...
