Not had brekkie yet - from 7am it seems to be a whirlwind! WUDUPA x4, WM x1 on, children away to school, soup simmering in the SC for lunch, beds made and I have showered. Did a quick S&S of the bathroom too. I really need my egg on toast now!
Morning all, Flying has been restricted to folding the clean washing. I seriously cba to iron it atm. So I’ve decided to have a lazy day. Until DD surfaces that is. I picked her up yesterday, took her shopping in big town as her trainers were falling apart. We both ticked a couple of Christmas gifts off the lists at the same time. Cooked dinner (sausages! And a pile of yorkshires), then dropped her at the pub to meet up with all her old school friends. When she emerges, she is supposed to be driving me to small town as she hasn’t driven for a while and needs the practice. Then I get the unenvious job of driving her back to the uni city. I just hope that I don’t end up doing that in the dark or in the rush hour as it is a horrible journey. On the plus side, she has road tested and approved my fingerless glove pattern, so I have started the next pair for my niece.
Oh well that was fun, triplets to the vets, cats 1 and 2 were very well behaved, allowed all the checks, etc. Cat 3, is the most shy and most hissy, once out of his box, around the room several times, he went...............I have numerous scratches from him, I even put my gloves on, the only thing the cat allowed was a jab, I think the vet didn't believe me when I said we might have problems.
Kaz, we had exactly the same with Nutkin he was just utterly terrified. He is still very skittish with OH and the girls. He was about 9/10 weeks when we got him and he growled for weeks, I'm sure an older fluff just needs love and time. even Pi came round eventually and he was pretty much feral and about 3 when we saved him.
I cleared half a work top, did 3 loads of washing, 2 in the dryer and folded 1 lot. Ther eis a basket of fleece/knitted stuff to go on the airer. I've knitted a bit of the 5th scarf and sorted the overnight bag for Twinkle, she is having a sleepover at her friends tomorrow.
I have 2 parcels to sort ready to post tomorrow and Meems prescription to collect.
Nail appointment tomorrow too
2 growly emails to send.. one to senco and one to drs.. bother are supposed to have called me back last week and neither has.
Sorry you're still feeling poorly, Valli. Glad you've got soup! GWS, all three of you x
Apologies for my being MIA. The week started well, but my disrupted sleep pattern has inevitably resulted in a grumbling migraine, and yesterday DH woke up feeling unwell enough to ring the GP surgery and grab himself an appointment - he even got seen in person. He was prescribed ABs and is feeling a fair bit better today, but of course I have had to do all the running round.
But I had a very happy couple of hours yesterday afternoon: picked up DGD1+2 from school, brought them here, fed them cake, played Happy Families with my grandmother's set of cards, and then handed them over to DS1 to go to their swimming lesson.
Not a lot of flying has been achieved, but my kitchen units are clear and clean, despite a marathon baking session yesterday morning, and my sink is shiny
Bed made, clothes picked up Hhi done, basket empty Bed stripped, duvet in WM, sheets ready to go in next Lunch made for OH Kitchen tidied and wiped down
I am enjoying the almost minimalism of my dining room, and am not using the table as a dumping ground. I am putting things away immediately where they belong, my motivation is extra steps to hopefully lead to weight loss. So now debating the kitchen or bedroom next. Both are reasonably tidy so should be doable.
I have a new potential student to evaluate and sort a plan with at 10 by Visio call.
Must go shopping So that leaves time to sort wherever and find more stuff that can leave the house.
Piggers the triplets just need time, cats 1 and 2 are timid of us, but they do on their terms come for a stoke, fuss and treats, still get hissing off them, but they are getting there, they are going to be allowed the rest of the house today. Cat 3 is miles behind them, I don't yet have a decent photo of him, the good thing is we have time.
Morning all, GWS wishes to all in Valli land x Iona - are you ok, my lovely? X I had a lovely couple of days with DD. It was lovely just to sit in the kitchen with her at midnight listening to her chatter. It is quiet again now that she is gone. I’m sitting with a cuppa and planning my last day of leave. Something exciting, like HHI, is on the cards. I need to sort out the fridge, meal plan, then book my shopping slot for the next couple of weeks. DW needs to run at some point, and I have to be in for a parcel to be delivered later. Apart from that, I want to start knitting the beret for my niece, as DD has now chosen wool that she wants for a scarf! Luckily, I have to go to buy the wool, and that isn’t going to happen for a couple of weeks, so plenty of time to get the beret out of the way. I’ve never knitted a scarf - just long and straight, right? So even I should be able to do that. Have a lovely day all x

Oooh you never know, scarves can get super complex! .. I usually keep 2 stitches knitted at each side to keep the edges neat and stop them rolling and knit them in 1x1 rib so the front and back look the same. plain knitted is ok but goes thin and stretches too much for my liking and it makes patterns look messy. I usually have about 4 rows of plain garter stitch to start with if it is a patterned scarf but if ribbed I go straight into the rib.. I am doing stripes at the moment.. I will try to log in on my phone and add pics later, if I remember!
Bills paid today.. *underwhelmed yay* I still have 3 lots of swimming and 3 lots of music to pay, some dinner money and a few BNPL things to pay. I will get this done asap and I have a nail appoinment at 11:30 at a new place and I am TERRIFIED.. I am such a noob at this life thing!!
Twinkles has a bag packed for a sleepover at her friends and insisted on taking her dressing gown and sheep and fluffy blanket so her bag is rammed!
I have washing to hang out and some bits outside which can go in the dryer to air off.
Litter trays need a speedy scooping before they get too awful to touch (they all had a full change on Monday so are ok for now) DW needs loading, maybe twice. girls bed needs clean sheets
I need to look at ordering the last 2 christmas presents
First.. cuppa and second sorting the 2 parcels to post.
