How to prove Booster Jab?
Comments

I had my booster shot this Saturday afternoon and when I checked the NHS Covid app this morning at 8am my booster/3rd jab was showing. Seems this was all a bit of a non-story.2

It is a non-story now, but the boosters have only been showing properly on the app for the last few days. Before then it was a real issue.Westin said:I had my booster shot this Saturday afternoon and when I checked the NHS Covid app this morning at 8am my booster/3rd jab was showing. Well I suppose that depends how hysterical people want to be, given that even as of today no European country requires proof of a booster. But we are splitting hairs now.silvercar said:

Was it though? How many fell into the category of this being a real issue?silvercar said:

Glad it's sorted and glad the approach was to crack on and get the booster programme rolled out and in arms of qualifying people with the IT catch up to follow (which has been the case). If you were in your 80's-100's and unable to go into a bar in France for a drink during early November holiday your then you have my sympathy however.

Not exactly true @onashoestring given the first thing the app asks after you go into the covid pass section is if its for Domestic or Travel - the second of which states explicitly "share your NHS Covid Pass when travelling abroad".onashoestring said:To be fair the UK Gov has designed the app to work with the UK rules and as such works fine as currently there are no requirements in UK to prove that you have had a booster - they wouldn’t have know before it was announced by France - that it was going to change it’s requirements, there is still a month to go before the change in rules for the over 65s.
Whilst some may disagree that NHS funds should be spent on developing an app to assist in international travel it should also be recognised that not all travel is for pleasure and some UK tax funds are raised based on people being able to travel for work. I'd be highly surprised if that overseas revenue and personal taxes paid in the UK didnt outweigh the app dev costs many times over.0 -
No one requires proof of booster but countries do require proof that your last vaccination is less than X days old... Austria, Croatia and Israel only recognise vaccination for a certain period and this is where the booster comes in.emmajones1976 said:

It's all very well getting proof of booster to show on an 'app' but I'm not aware that it is now compulsory to have a smartphone. Are details of booster jabs now shown on the Covid pass letter?0

The point I was making was that at the time of the post (12 Nov), there was no requirement either in France, Belgium or UK to show proof of a booster.Sandtree said:

Following France’s announcement that over 65’s would from Dec 15th need to provide evidence of having received the booster, ( to go into restaurants etc ) UK Gov said that they would be providing an update - which they now have over 4 weeks before France’s new rules come into effect .

But there was in Austria, Croatia and Israel who all already want proof of the last dose received being within X days and so some may have had their 2nd dose over that timescale so need to prove a more recent dose (ie the booster)... the first part of the section I quoted from you however stated "To be fair the UK Gov has designed the app to work with the UK rules" and this is what I called out as being inaccurate on the basis the app explicitly states half of its Covid functionality is to support travel abroad.onashoestring said:
