So you are saying that there is a cap on KWh price?Cardew said:
I think you need to look at your statement again. There are several threads explaining the price cap.Deleted_User said:The_Fat_Controller said:We should all be thankful for the price cap and that we don't have smart metering that actually charges the real cost of energy on a daily basis. The price cap only saves a minorities bacon - it is a maximum that anyone can be forced to pay monthly (£1227 pa) NOT a maximum per KWh usedSo for someone who used to spend say £600 on duel fuel - their charges could literally double overnight
Both kWh and Standing Charges.

It’s because it’s the way it’s explained in the media, always say price cap of £1200 odd, people think won’t have to pay more than £1200, which is very very wrong, a lot of people going to have shock when those bills roll in and direct debits increase massively. Not everyone is as savvy as the people that use these forums regularly. Sad truth is majority of people don’t take too much notice, just think they pay whatever their direct debit is each month and that’s itrp1974 said:

We see it all the time on this forum, people thinking their monthly Direct Debit covers all their electric and gas use no matter how much they use, and are surprised when it happens to increase.PZ19 said:

Whatever you call it, maybe "Common Sense 101". You have people posting on here who have no idea how or when to read a meter, and such. All part and parcel of being an adult and renting/owning a property, and its something as far as I am aware is never covered in school.Effician said:emmajones1976 said:
