NST November 2021: Turtle Strength

Didn’t manage to post over the weekend as real life got in the way.
Had a 3+ hour hair appointment on Saturday then went shopping. Managed to start with a few small bits for that day in December. So happy that I’ve managed to start.Sunday was also a spend day as needed to visit another store to get dog food mixer that I couldn’t get on Saturday. It seems lots of places no longer sell the plain dry mixer it’s all complete meals which I don’t need as I cook meat, rice and vegetables for the dogs so only need a handful of kibble to bulk it out a little. Decided to look online and big river shop sells large bags for a reasonable price so I have set up a standing order for it to be delivered.
Back to work today and worked late so haven’t done much else but hoping to get some sorting out and clearing out done over the next few days. I did get another NSD which takes me up to 5 so far this month.
Today I am grateful for central heating taking the chill off the house, helpful courier driver who asked where I wanted him to put the large bag of dog food after I asked if he could lift it over the threshold for me and cheese on toast and hot buttered toast for dinner tonight.
That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"8 -
Little bits of sorting done today. Folded the polytunnel cover to a compact size, dug out some of the potato soil and nearly filled a 50 l pot (after moving about 3 bin bags worth of plastic bottles and part bottles out of the way, various bits to the bins, took the remaining 3 bags of sand and cement mix out of their cardboard boxes and into the shed. Boxes are near the blue bin as they are a bit soggy. Brought an old knife inside (I have several odd old kitchen knives that I use to cut cardboard and plastic, used to have an old bread knife that was better than a stanley knife for cutting up carpet) and cut up two large cardboard boxes. They were lovely but after moving them several times a day just to get round the room, I have concluded that they are too big to be useful in their present form (but may make layers for food tins when I do the other cupboards or even cut outs for decorations).
Relaxed by watching several episodes of Call the Midwife. I know which bit of the room I want to sort next but struggling to find a good place to start . It may get worse before it gets better and not sure if I can cope with it being worse. No money spent so now on 7 NSDs.
Grateful for simple easy food - fruit loaf toast was divine, spending time relaxing, making little improvements. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Well done Ditty, we always knew you were outstanding, now you've got it in writing!
NSD#5
A good day at work, a couple of the 1:1 pupils were off, so was able to work more in class with groups of pupils for a change. Weather nice to start with, but then the wind got up again, could hear it whistling round the classrooms with having to have windows open. All our classrooms face the sea, so the wind comes straight off it. Sounds quite calm again now though.
Had a short nap after work, completed a sewing job then finally started on some knitting. I've felt bereft for the last month, as didn't have anything on the go. Couldn't find the wool amongst my stash that I wanted, so have started on something else.
Grateful for knitting again, working with different children, a hug from a pupil before she went home, also that our school has low cases of the virus unlike a slightly bigger school in townUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

finally achieved an NSD. WfH this morning then went to the office. Bit of a boring afternoon, spent ages printing out papers which were put on desks for a half hour meeting then handed back to me to recycle/shred. Waste of paper sigh
Got home just in time to watch episode 1 of The Tower. Did 10k steps today
gratitudes - nice chat with DD2 at lunch while we both went for a walk; boss agreeing that i don't need to go to a 5pm meeting on Thursday so i can WfH and get an early night before getting up at silly o'clock on Friday; warm bed

Work today on a job i'm not keen on because i'm not very good at it! Apparently I need to make 20 a day so I'll either improve or get moved to something else. Shakey hands and small components not a good mix!
Only managed just over 4K steps as sat at my bench all day. The door had to remain open to ward off covid so my legs set like the spotty dog on the wooden tops. What a state to get in 😂
0/15 NSD but low spend of £2.80 on newspaper, bread and small bag of salted cashews.
Make do and mend: Rather than buy more ingredients i cooked Satay Sweet Potato and Spinach Curry for tea using stuff i already had. Delish! I bought wholemeal egg noodles some time ago so cooked those. Not my favourites but used them up out of the way. Should also be enough for work lunch tomorrow.
Decluttering: Used up a Ly*x shower gel this morning. Just about enough for one shower so don't know why it was still in the cupboard! Thrown away a pair of woollen socks shrunk to dolly size. With each little item decluttered i will eventually see a difference. 🙏
Gratitudes: Glad my Mum has got her voice back and is recovering from a bad chest, my lovely curry and finding a few more things to get rid of.

Good evening XXX
Bit of a mixed bag here,
I did buy lunch at the bakers yesterday and then lunch for two days from M and S..... I couldn't face cooking. I am not a cook!
However I have returned 5 items to the wonderful big river shopand that should get me 50 quid ish back.
and am having toast for lunch the rest of the week!
I paid off most of last month's CC bill (the refunds will help with that) and If I am careful I can pay back the money I used from my savings, it is only 19 days till pay day!
Gratitudes - Mum seems happier, Animals are all good, survived work.
XXX
Nevertheless she persisted.9 -

Evening turtles. Spend day today as shopping is being delivered so I took the opportunity to buy a birthday gift for my mum, one for my other half, some allergy medicine, protein bars and a car wash. All things I had on the list to buy so no splurging.
I got a free voucher for 4 simply cook meals with my protein bars so I made the most of that, can't turn down a free meal!
Nothing else to report, work is quiet so I'm just getting on with whatever I can.Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24
