Sue, I got messages back and forth to my son on Christmas eve night and he's fine.  I got a photo of our 6 year old granddaughter opening the present we bought her too, which is lovely 😍  I hope you and T had a great Christmas. 
Just popping in to say I've had 2 more small sales so another £5.50 transferred to the account.  Yippee!!(doing a happy dance)

To change your number on your signature, go to your profile photo/picture, click there, then look for Edit profile, then to Signature Settings and swap your No. Then go down to Save and click there before you come out. What a beautiful day down here it was on Boxing Day, Ant, and like you, T & I had been out for a lovely walk in the sun, walking off the calories, but mostly because it was too gorgeous not to! 😁

A brilliant find of the 20p for you!! 😲 Unlike you though, we didn't have any finds, not really enough people around here, all fields, lanes with people walking dogs, though occasionally we've had a find or two, especially when there was a £10 note soaked in the rain!! 😲 It's not until we get back to the village that there might be the odd bits of cash, especially in the recreation field.

Not exactly as normal, but I'm still very pleased with it as it shows just how well we've all done, especially as so many members have left us. 😢

Hello @Sue-UU Christmas has been pleasant enough but at times stressful as mum with Alzheimer’s came to stay, it’s very hard to see how she has deteriorated. She lives 4 hours away from me and I suspect some tough decisions will be made next year. She goes home tomorrow so less stress for New Year.  The granddaughters have been lovely and amuses us all though bless them. Savings pot from bank is already building nicely! All my best wishes to you and all Potters for the New year and a happy healthy 2022 😘

Hi all, I Santa was good to you!
My long term relationship (11 years) ended a few months ago and I have been having a good clear out and selling stuff on FB.
In the last 2 weeks I have potted £22 with a possible £20 still to come!!

I have finally got off to a start here. Last year we used one of the money tins that you have to cut open with a can opener but this year I bought a vintage tea caddy and got my husband to cut a hole into the lid. We had to wait for it to arrive and then ended up saving very little in December. 

I find very little change on the floor outside now, I think it is due to people not using cash anymore. 10-15 years ago I would pick up shrapnel almost every time I went to the local shops. 

We had a relatively frugal Christmas this year. Next year I am hoping to make more gifts and cut back on the mass-produced tat even more. I was worried about gifting homemade items but the few I gave out were well received. I think this is the first year I haven't received some generic bath set that I would end up taking to the charity shop. 

Happy new year to everyone, fingers crossed 2022 is a good one.

Oh my!  We have a SPC baby? Many congratulations @gonnabedebtfree. 

@Sue-UU - That's a pretty good total for SPC 14, considering all the comings and goings of the last year in every way!  We have a lovely little community here and that's £21k saved from frivolous spending (well, it is in my case!).

Well, I've been doing bits and pieces of potting, including £2.95 today when I didn't go to a coffee shop.  I resisted the temptation and so have potted what I would have spent instead. I have also been able to do some potting for the end of the month - not much, but every little helps, right?  Just waiting for cashback to become payable on TopCashback and then I'll be able to add another £13!

Some great potting still going on which is good to see. Hopefully potting will be a bit easier now the expensive time of Christmas has passed, but of course there’s always some expense or other popping up. We still have storm damage repairs to pay for.
@welshspendthrift I do feel for you as my own mother has dementia. Luckily she’s still very bright and happy and when she said to me”I haven’t got a memory, have I?” earlier this afternoon I got her to remind me of some of the naughty things she told me she and her siblings did when they were very young, which she recalled in full detail. It gave us both a good laugh. We get her to write things in her diary so that she remembers them. If I’m honest I have to do that myself a lot of the time.
Found a very exciting and random 8p roadkill this afternoon when I went to the garage to pump up the tyres. Grand total of 29p of roadkill found so far during SPC15.

Hi welshspendthrift, I'm so sorry to hear about your dear mum, I know how hard it is as my dear mum had it and now my very dear lifelong friend has it too!! She's the same age as me yet is far worse than my mum was. I always found that taking my mum back with memories she'd told me about her past was a great way for her to relive her past once again and she was so happy at those times. The same with songs etc, she'd sing every note and word beautifully. No, they didn't stay with her for long, but she was so happy while her memory was 'alive' with them. It's different with my friend as we live an hour and a half away and her husband says it's not worth going to see her!

Time will tell you what's best to do for your mum, but well done for the granddaughters! Enjoy the New Year!

Let's hope 2022 will be a lot better for you than last, IntoTheForest!! I agree that since Covid started and a lot of shops wouldn't take cash anymore, there's been far less cash lying around! 

An excellent idea to make your own gifts, little_sweetie, does exactly the same. I think we all know the type of things relatives and friends appreciate, so no more having to pass things onto charity shops!

Thanks a lot, Vicky, but if you look at my signature you'll see the difference between previous year's Grand Totals, apart from last year and again this year as there's not enough room since the change of format! I might remove my personal yearly sums. 

It is lovely to have a 1st SPC birth and spread a little joy, the same with all our babies at any time of year eh Siju?!
