That is very sad about your neighbour @Sue-UU , also with his daughter terminally ill so awful for the family. A reminder of how precious life is. I sadly lost a cousin unexpectedly this week. I met him a couple of weeks ago for coffee (so glad we did as it hasn’t been so easy to do in COVID times). We were due to catch up again very soon. When I saw his number come up on my phone I was shocked to hear his brother on the other end telling me he had found him having a heart attack and he sadly couldn’t be saved. His Dad passed a couple of months ago and I think he was lost without him. It’s good to see plenty of good potting still happening. Little and often can really add up. I’ve potted more travel savings and shopping savings and my pot is now carrying a bit of weight. Daughter still having huge problems with her mental health. Trying to keep reminding her that she’s loved and hoping she’ll be able to open up a bit soon. She never wants to talk about it and being a teenager she thinks she already knows everything, as I’m sure many of us did when we were teenagers. Cheery soul aren’t I?! There’s also lots to be grateful for of course, such as the fantastic careers who come in to see my Mum each morning. She speaks so highly of them, they really are special people. Although my cousin has passed I’m grateful for the time we had together, and our silly harmless banter. Miss you already Pete. Stay as safe and as healthy and as kind as you can everyone. Actually, being kind seems to come naturally to the people on this challenge. Hope you all manage to get some well deserved rest at what can be a crazily busy time of year.

A very good Saturday,Potters!
Enjoy yourselves everyone and here's
hoping we can all save well and keep VERY
healthy!! Save in a way that's
best for YOU! 😄
If any of you are feeling poorly or
perhaps low in spirits, and take care, and
get well soon, then come on back with us,
for now here are love and hugs to help
look after yourselves ❤️
Well done, LMD, keep up the good work!
Brilliant (A) little_sweetie!!! I'm so very chuffed for you!! 🤗 It makes it all so much easier.
I
couldn't agree more about those who lose loved ones around this time
of year, so very sad indeed, and it's with them every year after.
I'd
never heard of such high prices whether you're NHS or not, he just said
he'd have to refer me for Root Canals, so as there were 2 to be done @
£700 each, I thought you can chuckle on that matey!! 😡 I did put it in
the search bar of my browser though and I'm certainly not the only one!!
Disgusting as we're NHS.
I can't see the worst
tooth settling at all for Christmas as its been ages now, I'll suck on
T's delicious roast if needs be!! 😋 He should have been a chef, he's a
brilliant cook, which is probably meant to be with me and the epilepsy
as I've had so many burns before!! 😱🥴
We'll
stay well A, I promise you, we go for a walk almost every day, apart
from that we never mix as, inevitably, our youngsters and theirs have
their hubbies and partners mixing far too much at work, it's never worth
the risk.
A very MerryChristmas to you all!!
Oh not Ant!!
Thank the dear Lord you had that coffee together when you did. That
phone call from your other cousin to say he had died must have been such
a shock, especially after so recently losing his father!! Maybe you and
your other cousin might get a little closer, I really hope so.
Bless
your dear mum for the appreciation she has in the carers that's she's
fortunate enough to have, I bet they think the same about her too. Our
younger granddaughter so often opens up to T and I, the other 4 used to
do exactly the same.
I'm
so very sorry to hear your daughter is still having problems with her
mental health, Ant, but you're so right, as talking about, it no matter
what our age makes a real difference. Such a shame she doesn't listen to
her dear dad right now, particularly as so many parents haven't the
time or the patience, she's a very lucky girl. Talking to someone is
just what she needs, one day she'll open up more Ant.
I'm
pleased you find comfort on our thread, but then, like you, we're all
very compassionate towards each other, a real blessing.
Take great care Ant. xx
A WONDERFUL WEEKEND everyone, and STAY SO VERY HEALTHY
and keep on
potting/saving!!

Oh Ant you're not having a great time at the moment are you. Your daughter must feel very stressed but she's lucky to have a caring dad like you. Just hang on in there and I hope she talks to you about what's bothering her very soon. Teens are having a tough time over the last 18 months too. Our GC are 14 and 17 and seem to have so many problems with lack of schooling and exams etc. Of course, hormones kick in too 🤔 Stay strong.... Our GD has found out today that her school dance partner has tested positive for Omicron variant so she's staying away from us for now. She's doing a lateral flow test daily too but I have my doubts about getting us all together on Christmas day . Time will tell...
I’m so sorry to hear of the bereavements, my thoughts are with you all. I had sad news a couple of days ago too. Remember the ambulance that turned up at my house? Apparently that neighbour died of a heart attack about a week after that. He was only a similar age to me and had a physical job as a window fitter but he was a heavy smoker. Even my son asked me why he coughed so much. I haven’t told him that he has died as I don’t want to upset him just before Christmas, I don’t really know what’s best. The gentleman over the road died in the summer but he knew he was older and quite poorly but this one was unexpected. No potting to report. Been busy making a shopping list for Thursday; I didn’t think I need much, it appears I was wrong 🤦♀️ @AntoMac I hope things get better for you all soon. I can see the hormones starting to begin with my boy but he’s too young to handle them; one minute he’s in a rage then the next he’s crying like the small boy he still is. Hopefully Santa will cheer him up 🎅
I think I mentioned the problems I have had with fleabay not letting me sell (after 20 years of positive feedback) well I left them to stew. A couple of months on after noticing the complaints by loads of other people on their site, I did a test listing which sold within hours. I have been paid! I now have a cunning plan I will try to sell more things and pot the proceeds. There is a building society account which I never use, although it's still open, so I'll use that for sealed pot money. Hence £2.75 transferred today. Plan B is on! Hope you all had a great weekend and are almost ready for the festivities. Stay well x
A very good Monday,Potters! I hope everyone had a super weekend, and here's
hoping we enjoy a good week leading up to a AVERYMERRYCHRISTMAS 🎄 Keep very safe all and Save in a way that's
best for YOU! 😄

Oh dear (A) little_sweetie,
I so hope your DGD will be alright and that you're all able to be
together for Christmas. This blessed Omicron seems to be everywhere at
present, present day youngsters will be talking about it together for
years to come! Fingers crossed she'll be ok for Christmas.
You're so right with what you said to, Ant, about hormones and his dear daughter, they leave their mark enough as it is without the pandemic too!
Oh brilliant thinking re Fleabay!! 🤣
Great
work, I've put an account on the bank which is separate to our current
one and each week I transfer some to the SPC account. I try to save £20
if possible, it to doesn't always work, but mostly it's ok. Keep your
cunning plan up A!!
Oh dear Hetty, how very sad for both your neighbours, especially the younger one. The perils of smoking eh or having been a former smoker.
Your
poor Alex, I think if it was me with telling him, I'd have told him
straight away and taken advantage of Alex still having Christmas to look
forward to. It might also have helped with the way he's feeling right
now and given you both a better Christmas. The worrying part is, what if
a neighbour talks to you about him dying and Alex is with you!
Telling Alex anyway whenever you do might help you never to have a lad who takes to smoking!!
All the very best to those going away earlier, and AVERYMERRYCHRISTMAS 🎄 ⛄ one and all, and thoroughly enjoy yourselves!!

Last post before Christmas. Hugs to anyone having a hard time at the moment
We are at DS's house for Christmas. DS and family have gone to visit his fiancé's family as some have still not met the baby so we are cat sitting and moving his kitchen units to fit the fridge in. As I type, DH is up to his neck in chaos! We thought it would be better to do this while baby was elsewhere. Everything is going to plan - for the moment! Hopefully it will be back together tomorrow. We should be spending Christmas with DD and our SIL, but baby number two might have other ideas as he is due on Boxing Day. No signs yet, but you never know!
Another £5.25 in the pot this week. Wishing everyone a snuggly Christmas with plenty of love and kindness
I'm not going anywhere to spend money for the rest of the week so I've just emptied my purse into the pot. Probably just over £10 but I've no spare time to count
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate and a peaceful/restful break of you don't. LMD x
Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...
My cunning plan seems to be working , I just transfered another £2.75 from a second sale 😁 into the Bldg Soc account. We are off the starting block! 🎄🤞
I'm sorry to hear some of you have had some bad news and bereavements recently.
While having a sort out, my husband found a £10 note in a birthday card of mine from the beginning of the year. I've potted that along with 11p from my purse. I'm not potting quite as regularly as I'd like - I don't get out much Although, I've just gone back to work after maternity leave so I may have more potting opportunities now!
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you all have a lovely time and keep safe and well
