Pay half of a PCN for it to go away?

Is it possible to negotiate and pay only half of the requested £60 PCN .
Just to make it easier and not worry or spending time fighting the PCN is it possible to negotiate and say as the registered keeper of the vehicle I will pay half or I will not pay anything and dispute the claim to court?

Does anyone have any views on this and would it work or possible?
PCN are totally unfair but I would rather just pay half and end it and not go through a long process and have it on the back of my mind.

    Won't work

Just follow the advice in the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements

Plan A is your best option , it ALWAYS is !

If you don't pay , you can dispute it and could be sued in court , where the stakes are higher
  • Plan A does not work in my case as the landlord receptions say its a 3rd party thing, they do not want to know and say you need to appeal with the parking company and hang up.

Well , it's either pay now , or dispute it in court and let a judge decide , where you may lose and pay around £200

There is no easy getout with these private PCNs

My Dad is not happy with receiving letters so I'm being forced by him to pay up and stressing me out once he seen the PCN.
I suffer from severe mental illness so letting this drag on in my mind losing sleep and worry about court is not healthy for me.
I'm on benefits also so I wanted to not have to pay it as I'm already broke.
Is there a really good chance that they will not take it to court?

These company's are bad having to pay a £60 for just driving thru a car park and not reading a sign saying vehicles need a e permit to park.

You haven't told us who they are , but I would say that there is a very good chance of it going to court , no matter who it is

The keeper could name the driver , if they were not the driver , should be on the PCN that they can do this , but only if the keeper was not the driver ( the driver is ALWAYS potentially liable )

The ability to pay for it , or not , doesn't enter into it , it's an unpaid invoice

Court is a very , very strong possibility , they want the money !!

    Seven or more.
  • Damm ill just have to wait for the debt collection and can settle on £10 a month its more than 1 or something.
So stupid such a easy mistake to do continually. Thinking its the right car park to use. Should be stop barriers or scanners from letting vehicles enter. Cruel scam business
  • Please do not pay the cowboys.

Read the newbies guide,  read lots and lots ( and I mean lots ! )  of other posts to help get your head around how it all works and you will gain confidence to fight them off and leave your money where it belongs, in your pocket.

Depending on your case,  it may or may not get to court stage or it could even be cancelled / discontinued.   Please do not stress yourself or worry,  they are worth it.
