Why are you trying to complicate things? Everybody knows what travel is"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

Why are you trying to muddy the waters? The farther you travel , the bigger your footprint"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

Not all miles are equal though. 1 mile in a Hummer is going to have a much bigger footprint than 1 mile in a Zoe.

The farther you travel the bigger your footprint in whatever vehicle. You will be talking carbon trading next. I wish there was a way for me to switch the electric but I can't without spending a considerable amount of money to switch from my Renault Clio.
I don't do huge milage anyway, I did less than 5000 miles between MOTs so I'm probably doing the planet a favour by not changing?4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0 -

Thats what we will do. Our bought new current car is likely to be our last hurrah to ICE cars as our main car. When its due a change it'll almost certainly be to an electric car but i think thats likely to be many years away yet. Changing it for the sake of changing to an electric car right now would seem more like adding to the problem, than being part of the solution.
