Evening all,
No flying so I hope I can sneak in quietly under the radar.
Wide awake at 2.30am, inexplicably crying. Carried on like that for a while, must have dropped off eventually. Feeling tremendously guilty about saying no to somebody, which dredged up all sorts of emotions that I could have done without.
So…..another busy day at work, covering 3 jobs. Easy new-to-us dinner cooked from the bbc website. WULTD, kitchen floor swept - and there’s the compulsory flying bit!
Looking forward to the custard creams tonight. This is not helping my slinky campaign.YL - so many hugs for you xx9 -

My mother was assaulted by a man trying to break into my stepdads car at 7am, my mother, at 68, apprehended him, swatted a knife from his hand and he beat her about the head with a wrench so she has spent the day in hospital being stitched up and having a brain bleed checked and spekaing to the police who are not even going to attempt to find him.
So that's my day...

I have ignored the list this morning and D&D'd (dusted and Dy$0ned) all through downstairs, as well as giving the ensuite a good clean, since I may not feel up to doing it for a couple of days if I react badly to my jab. Upstairs is tidy, apart from the top of the c-o-d in the study, a few papers on the spare bed, waiting to be organised into their ring binders, and a box of various admin sitting on top of the printer to be dealt with later. I reckon that I should be able to sit at my desk, even if my arm aches!
I have also put thick pork shoulder steaks and lots of veg in the SC for our meals tomorrow and Sunday. Rosie is being driven mad by the lovely smell.
I had a lightbulb moment earlier which has helped the feeling of space that I crave in the area around my desk. I had two plastic magazine files on my desk, full of printouts, letters, rotas, leaflets and other miscellaneous gubbins awaiting attention (but that's the first place where I would look for them and I know roughly what's in there). It was annoying me as it was always in my line of sight and [partially blocking my view out of the window, yet I need to keep them close at hand. I have reduced the paper to one magazine file's worth (including some card dividers which I had kept just in case I needed any - I think I bought these about 20 years ago and they've certainly earned their keep over the years), and then I realised that if I laid the magazine file on its back with the top towards me, it would no longer obscure my view and I could reach everything even more easily than before. A little triumph, but it gave me a smile to start the day!
Off out now. Will catch up with you all later. (((Hugs))) all round, GWS to poorlies, plenty of spoons in the jar so please help yourself, loads of sticks on the lawn (it's very windy here too) xxx8 -
... skids in, late as usual. Thank you for the lists Valli, absolutely wonderful, all of them.I'm working from my own as last Friday's list had five things I needed to do on it, one has been done each day over the past week and I've kept on top of everything else (just), but now have another list of 17 things that need doing urgently, nine of which are still left. It never ends, does it?Thank you for the suggestions for lunch for our friend with MND. I took some liquidized and finely sieved broccoli soup with some very finely grated melty stilton, together with some Greek yoghurt for her. Belovéd and I went to Waitrose to get something lovely for her partner and us to have - a proper meal because we're a bit worried he's not bothering to cook for himself - which he admitted while we were eating. In the end she wasn't well enough to do anything but just listen to us having lunch but there were a lot of smiles and her partner loved the food we were able to finish off cooking for him in their kitchen. (Fortunately we know it well already.) I very much fear she won't see Christmas, which she'd prepared us for months ago as the illness was progressing very rapidly.Better is good enough.9
