That's a very good summary but spoilt by your last sentence.
Please read again my earlier post where it says...To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.2 -
You've missed out THE most vital thing that if you don't do it you could get clobbered for costs at the hearing for unreasonable conduct, and would mean you can present no evidence and can't speak as a witness.MFR123 said:Never Mind, I'm reading the link you sent - Pretty straight forward:
I have 14 days to file the Acknowledgment of Service - Then I have 28 days from the date of issue (10th May 2022) in my case) to get my defense ready through this forum
Once my defense is sent I await the questionnaire they will send back to me and the claimant which I MUST respond to by the date given especially contesting the oral hearing or special directions request
I then send this form to Northampton as well as a copy of this to the claimant
Then I wait for the Notice of Allocation which will give me a date and time of hearing
Finally attend the hearing

I think this is the skeleton of it all with details in the specific forum -
Did I miss anything?
P.S. Can I file the Acknowledgment of Service online or do I have to post?
EDIT - I've just read the screenshots for the dropbox to do it online through MoneyClaims -
Thank You Very Much
I won't say what it is because far better for you to re-read the NEWBIES thread under the red heading about 'KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN' follow our list ( and bargepole's summary) and don't re-write your own version.
Reminds me of when I worked in a school and all students doing GCSEs were issued with their own bespoke printed exam timetable. One girl had the bright idea of re-writing a fresh, personalised version out on a blank sheet of paper, in pretty pencil colours with unicorns and butterfly stickers, which she kept by her bed during the exam season.
You guessed it. She missed one exam out...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank You both for the feedback! - I can always learn more

Will start working on my defenCe, and return for further guidance if needed
P.S. What a shame for the girl
- Hope she did well in the rest of the exams

Hi Guys, quick question:
"Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 13th June 2022 to file your Defence."
If the date of service is 10th May, and we have 28 days to file a defence (so long as the acknowledgement of service has been filed of course) where do the extra days come from?
I read on the newbies post you get 28 days and an extra 5 (I think). But what are those extra days for if the defence must be filed within 28 days?
Many Thanks0 -
There are further days added from the Date of Issue to accommodate time for the service of the claim on you, determined to be 5 days. Therefore 33 days from issue. If the 33rd day falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday, then the following first working day at 4pm becomes the deadline for submission. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The back of your Claim Form tells you:

It goes on to say:

Of course, they are paid by the side which loses. Hae you complained to your MP?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Hi Guys, So I've received the N180 questionnaire.
I've filled it out and will be sending one to Nhampton and one to claimant and then keep one for myself too.
Just some clarifications:
1 - Do I have to post it? or can I do it online i.e. scan and send via email of the form?
2 - If I do have to post it, can I send it any post or special delivery or recorded etc.
3 - Anything else to keep in mind relating to the N180
Many Thanks

Hi again!
This is all already covered in the 12 steps spelt out in the Template Defence announcement thread you were following.
By the way, don't disappear now that it will be a time of lull in your case before a hearing order comes through months down the line! We need you to be here.
All this court claim harassment and adding a false 'DRA fee' layer that was never incurred, is partly a way to gaslight and intimidate people into paying more, and partly it funds the 'race to court' roboclaim culture.
Both of which must end.
And that's what we want you to tell the Government. As we will (again...this will be the 3rd and final Public Consultation)!IMPORTANT - IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE LAW ON THIS:
Please read this and come back in good time for the upcoming Public Consultation (date TBA) that you will no doubt be keen to respond to:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6371803/time-limits-on-pcn-court-claims#latest
Read it if you didn't know the Govt very nearly got a statutory ban on DRA +£70 extortion over the line, and lower parking charge levels, but the moneymen have temporarily blocked it last month, and threw their toys out the pram.
We need high numbers of genuine victim respondents to unblock it again.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'll post the original, and send the scan via email to the claimant as well
Is this OK as the claimant emailed me a copy rather than posting their's?0
