It is rough and wild here, the sea is doing what is known locally as 'smacking up' on the sea walls, (local web cams, I've not been out there yet) very high seas are expected, the area to the west of me, has had all the flood gates closed, unfortunately some one had parked on a 'flood plain' car park, the car is knee deep in water. High tide passed 2 hours ago!OH is off today to get his 3rd jab, at a local? walkin centre 25 miles away.Crash at 3am this morning, the bathroom mirror fell off the wall, and is in pieces, so I need to go to the shed and find a large box to put the bits in, then go and buy a new one, it was held up with 8 3m sticky strips..............A day for making soup, I have a load of carrots to use up, so carrot & coriander it is.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

Hello all. First work shift, dailies and dog walking done. Will procrastinate over flying now.
Have talked myself out of flying. I'm just going to do more knitting before next work shift. After that I'll walk dogs again and go to a meeting.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Since I last posted I have given DDs room a really good tidy, binned some junk and bagged some more up for the CS. I’ll drop the bag off on the school run later.
The stove is lit and the washing is drying in front of it. I am going to have a lazy couple of hours now before it’s time to go back out.

A beautiful sunny day here, but a brisk cold wind.
I phoned the Horribly Silly bank at 8.00 sharp this morning (again!) and at last got through to a Helpful, Sympathetic customer ***service*** agent, who very patiently talked me through every step of 4 different procedures. If only they'd all been like him...
I have also
- done WMx3; no 4 is twirling and no 5 will go in later; loads 1,2 and 3 are hung out
- phoned our ex-Treasurer and got her reinstated as a secondary user on the church bank account so that in the event of a crisis we are not left without any access to the account again
- delivered her log-in info to her
- paid in money at the bank branch on the other side of town
- posted the second birthday card for my old schoolfriend
- delivered 3x Michaelmas daisy plants to another friend, and I can go and dig up some of hers whenever I want them for my garden
- made scrambled egg for lunch
DH has gone to the specs shop to get his glasses mended, then he is coming home to fetch me and Rosie and we are going out to enjoy the sunshine with coffee and hopefully cake at our local NT house. I just about have time to do a couple more little jobs before he gets back.
Hope you get your voice back soon, pigpen x
Fingers still crossed for your job hunting, dancemum x

I just can't keep up with Fred at the moment, for which I sincerely apologise. All the outdoor work that needed doing was done before the five day deluge - painting vinegar on the green slime on the sundeck, paths, steps and stairs, planted out several trays of pansies where the lobelia had almost given up the ghost, planted garlic in various other houses' lightwells (with the owners' permissions), moved several blackcurrants that didn't do particularly well this year, together with a rhubarb ditto, harvested some rhubarb for a pear and rhubarb crumble (delish - Belovéd made it), harvested all the rest of the pears, shared out as many as people in the Gardens wanted and then donated 32kgs to the Foodbank, emptied one of the tumbling composters and used the compost in the garlic pots, reseeded some bald patches on the grass, destroyed the tomato plants that had a surprising number of green tomatoes on them that are still ripening in the house and tidied up the yard - that last job has been outstanding since the spring. All that took well over a week to do and I was shattered every day after I'd finished.Touched up all the scratches I made on the car, (must get round to putting the gel coat on top at some point) and half a dozen WM loads. I hate using the TD but had to in the end for some of the bigger pieces.Got the draught-proofing curtain for the front door down from the attic, together with the secondary glazing and shoved all of them into the windows, ready for the gales and cold weather.Phoned the plumber several times because the heated towel rail in the bathroom isn't working and I really mind cold bathrooms in the winter. This week I've done very little Flying because making knickers on the overlocker is my priority. I'm on my third pair and I've discovered a whole host of mistakes that can be made following a very straightforward pattern with seven pieces of fabric. However, I am no longer terrified of the machine and that was the aim of the exercise. The house is grubby tip. I'm not sure I care enough at the moment whereas I do care about being able to use the overlocker.Better is good enough.10

I think we all need a mental health week.. We have a LOT of sickness and stress and worry to deal with, we are all sounding very run down and in need of some self care.
Maybe we should have a week of dailies only and practice some self love and positive thinking and doing the things we love!! some early nights, some long baths and meeting up with people whose company we enjoy rather than people we are obligated to spend time with.
With Christmas on our doorsteps things are not going to calm down any time soon..
