Piggers, you have my greatest sympathy - what you are describing is exactly what I am just coming to the end of (finally). Still bucket loads of mucus and the accompaying stuffed sinus feeling though. Sending you lots of love and rest when you can - I have been napping for England!
The dog has had three good walks today - much needed for her, and also for my MH. I have prepped dinner, and made a new batter mix for our Yorkshire Puddings, really hope they turn out well. Tomorrow we will spend the morning at the library as usual, then I must pop to the butcher for the chicken that I forgot to buy when I was out earlier. After that the rest of the day is dedicated to pallet chopping - I expect I will be tired after that!
For now the stove is lit and I may consider getting my PJs on. Sending big hugs to you all xx10 -
Beautiful flowers, Narco. That sounds really unpleasant Piggers. I hate to ask this, but have you tried a lateral flow test? Thanks Ionafan. Today I had five jobs on my list - I've done one of them and it took 5 hours so that's enough for one day. I spent quite a bit of time ferrying stuff about the house to where I would look for those things first, as opposed to where I had been keeping them which has clarified why I can never find things I know I have.Yes, a file is a container and I find it helps enormously in the pruning of stuff to know that if it doesn't fit, it probably isn't necessary. Quite a bit of stuff is now in the recycling or regular bin here, too. The utility area around the WM has finally been cleared of all the gibble that has been collecting there for months, the cupboards have been turned out, stuff chucked, shuffled and sorted, cupboards reloaded and there is now SPACE down there, whereas before as soon as I opened the doors I was hit by an avalanche of clutter. The rest of the listy can keep until tomorrow.Suggestions please. On Tuesday we are visiting a friend with motor neuron disease who is now struggling to eat. We're taking lunch, and at the moment her edible list seems to stop at Angel Delight - she's not relying on it for nutrition, that's taken care of in other ways. I just want her to enjoy the taste of something even if it's only a tiny amount. Can anyone suggest anything else that would slip down safely and easily that she might enjoy?Better is good enough.10

My DH died 6 months ago of MSA which is like a rigid Motor Neurone Disease,
his taste buds changed an he no longer liked the spicy things he had previously ( nor sadly his whiskey)
he did like jelly and custard pots , also some soup, no lumps .
swallowing became a great problem so much care had to be taken by me when feeding him ( he refused a Peg) hope that helps ,they are truly terrible diseases10 -

Well done dancemum. You've achieved a lot in just one day! x
I, on the other hand, have done next to nothing except drive, eat and talk. And I took Rosie for a walk, of course. I must tidy my desk and FUPA some washing before bedtime.
Honey Bear, I was wondering if your friend would enjoy a creamy, flavoursome soup. It would be good if you could all share at least one thing on your menu. Angel Delight seems to be making something of a comeback atm. I only ever liked the chocolate flavour
Hope everyone has a good weekend xx10 -
HoneyBear I was thinking along the same lines as Ionafan - I wonder if your friend would like something savoury like soup if all she is eating is sweet Angel Delight. Or a light savoury like Salmon mousse? Sorry to hear about the loss of your DH Suffolksue.
Not much variety to report today - went to gym, put a load of washing on, taught my workplace student, wrote her summary, did some admin for next week's work, continued another report.
I didn't go to the full moon swim last night as my friend couldn't go and the weather was terrible on Wed, plus I had loads to do. Of course yesterday was lovely and sunny, the sky was clear with a lovely moon and today lots of photos of the swim appeared on FB so I missed a good night - some great Halloween costumes. Huh. Planning on swimming tomorrow although I still have loads to do and we're going to mum's for the weekend.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
I'm so sorry about your DH Suffolk Sue. I'd never heard of MSA so I looked it up; it's truly awful. (((Hugs)))Thank you, and Narco and Ionafan for your suggestions. I'll make and take some strained soups in flasks so that she has a choice if she'd like any, with a pot of single cream on the side to add just before serving, plus some AD. Butterscotch was my favourite so, again, I'd like to give her some choices. I'll check about whether she'd like some salmon mousse and take some over another day, but it may be impossible to make that lump-free. She said a couple of months ago that if it kept progressing at the rate it was she didn't think she'd see Christmas and I very much fear she was right.Well done Dancemum on finsihing the garage, a marathon task if there ever was one.Better is good enough.8

Morning all xx
Ahh - weekend 🥳. Four days of work, eat, sleep, repeat, completed... now it's time to rest, recharge, and realise just how blessed I am. And fly, of course 😇
A slow morning so far. I stayed in bed pondering all the things I'd like to achieve flying wise- it all seems doable whilst I'm lying in bed, but grows teeth and growls at me once I'm up. Is that just a Roundtuit phenomenon? Or quite usual?
I've made my bed, opened my bedroom window, checked the weather forecast for the weekend (best drying day is today apparently), caught up with the threads, and I'm savouring my second brew.
Round 1
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Bring down the laundry hamper
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing
WUDUPA a bowl of pots
That'll do for starters.
Love to all 💖

Morning all
bit of a rough night with the cough/cold but I feel alright 'in myself' so I don't think I have Covid. I'll maybe do a lateral flow if I start to feel ill. A few kids have had colds so no surprise that I have caught it.
Condolences to SuffolkSue - I too had not heard of that.
FWIW I like strawberry AD.
If any of go have any self care suggestions it might be worth adding to a list for next week I would appreciate a PM.
DD is here. Rescheduled court case was yesterday - dealing with costs pertaining to the car accident when a drunk drove into her car and 2 others. All parked. Much to her relief costs have been awarded in her favour. This has dragged on and caused her untold stress. I couldn't go to be with her ( it was on zoom) so my sister drove down to support her.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear10
