I was gifted twelve pallets today, free of charge, from a local business clearing its yard out. Lots of chopping to keep me busy over the next few days! X

Kaz I have had to organise a 3rd vaccine for DS1. Not all walk in centres are doing it, DSs GP has agreed to do his which we were lucky with apparently. 119 were really helpful.
So today has been a write off due to us being woken up at 12.45am by the police knocking on the door. When I had established that neither of my boys had been killed in a terrible accident they told me that they were looking for DS1 because they believed that he had witnessed a serious incident. Long story short they were prepared to wait until after DS finished work today to discuss this with him. I had a complete meltdown when they had left and didnt sleep at all.
The stove man has been to look at what needs doing to make our woodburner safe. Full days work he said, doesnt sound cheap does it. DH has been referred to an acute back clinic. Washing over the airer, I dont have the energy to fly today, 7 hours at the paid stuff was enough.9 -
YL.. that really annoys me with the police.. why on earth would they come at that time just for a witness? That ridiculous!! I know how scared you must have been I have had it done to me too and had police knock asking my DD2 and again when they were looking for a missing person and again when Meem went walkabout.. it's super scary. I hope you sleep better tonigth
We were knocked out of bed one night at 1am years ago because the neighbours van had been broken into.. I was so very not polite.. if it had been my van I still wouldnt have cared at that time of night.
DW on again
TD on to air towels because they were hanging on doors.not much else done as I felt increasingly unwell as the day progressed.Had a 'discussion' with school.. I wanted to know if they were going to ban eggs completely when Lionel (he is 18 months old but it is relevant) starts school because he is anaphylactic to egg, he doesn't have to injest it, contact is enough to cause a reaction.. if not why not because they have 1 child with a nut allergy (not specified the type of nut) and have 'banned' nuts.. is it going to be one rule for one child and one for everyone else? Are they going to adapt for one child and put another at risk every single day he is at school? .. I think it is a perfectly fair question.. dead is dead.
Got lots planned for tomorrow but how much gts done remains to be seen.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
YL how scary and what was the point?
- Started another report.
- Did a load of washing-up.
- Picked some foliage to go in friend's funeral arrangement, left it to soak.
- Went to uni. Had argument with parking ticket machine which kept bleeping then cancelling transaction. Ended up having to ring them and answer one of those recording things then pay by card. So there I am, on a mobile in a howling gale, spelling out my registration " no I said efffffffffffffffff essssssssssssssss u not ffu. They were lucky they didn't get worse, and lucky I had arrived early. Nice student but ADHD and they always make my head spin.
- Dropped in to Mr T on my way home, spent longer than expected choosing flowers for the arrangement, fillers for the charity Christmas shoeboxes and a few items we needed.
- Gratefully ate chicken risotto Mr N had ready for me, returned a call to my Mum then did the flower arrangement while he Zoomed to the bible group. I joined in for the last 5 mins as my brother rang while I was arranging.
- Just going to answer a couple of emails now, then it has to be an early night as I'm shattered. Determined not to miss body pump tomorrow but I need to put the flowers in the church on my way. Then on to uni so must sort out tomorrow's paperwork; I've already labelled all the test pages but I need to put it on the landing so I won't forget it.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Very pleased to hear that all is well with your teeth and eyes, Narc0 - both are precious x
Just because the police work night shifts doesn't mean that we all do! Hope you get a better night tonight, YL x

Morning all.
Up early as I'm back to work today but not expecting to be able to do much as too many people off with Covid. Will see what flying I can fit in.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning. I’m in today. Have a delivery to wait for, work admin to finish and drop off, washing to be done. And a basket of ironing (DD1 found all her ‘last’ bits to be washed yesterday, and would I mind ironing them today!)
So wish I was nearer, I would happily take on the teaching of algebra, and yes it is useful in real life
Off to load WM, see you later9 -
and I now have laryngitis.. blooming fan-bloody-tastic. I really wish OH would learn to cover his face when coughing and sneezing.. he is disgusting.. I would have caught his cold anyway but it is just manners. I have also pulled a muscle in my arm carrying the bags of shopping to my mothers on Monday so that hurts too and is quite swollen and sore. I thought it was something scary until I remember what I had actually done, I love how our minds always jump to the most ominous reason.
Meem got the girls ready for school so I could still be slobbed in bed, except my throat hurts.
I doubt anything much will get done today, maybe some christmas shopping. I need a main present for the 2 smallest and the 2 biggest .. everyone else is done.
I am spending the day knitting I think.. Lionel needs a couple of new cardies and I promised DD1's friend some for her baby, but only done 1 pink one so far and a green bootee.

Thank you Honey Bear9 -
I have cleaned all through downstairs, including steam mopping the kitchen floor. Do I get my wings back, please?
Now I have a long list of admin to get through. I've already filled in a form online and printed it out, ready for 2 different signatures.
Birthday cards next - they need to be posted today.
It is pouring with rain, so I'm not inclined to go out yet!
Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx9
