  • I wish I had seen this site yesterday before I ordered a Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt. Just recieved an email from them saying they are out of stock and can not deliver for 3 weeks instead f the 2 days quoted. Just replied to say to give me a refund instead.........I'll wait and see i guess.

    I can't believe this company is still treating customers in this way. I haven't been on this site for ages and to see that customers are still being ripped off is very surprising. Trading Standards were very helpful, so my advice is to contact them and ask for their help. Check out some of the addresses from earlier posts on this site. I've just found all my previous correspondence with the company and trading standards. The company has a maximum of thirty days to provide a refund, this is under the distance selling regulations or also the sale of goods act. I don't know if they are still trading from the same address but the address that I had was Unit 5 South Road, Templefields Enterprise Centre, Harlow, Essex. CM20 2AR

  • Well that sucks im still waiting for a ralph lauren polo shirt. It's already been delayed twice and i ordered on the 30th august. 'Michael' told me it should be coming on the 24th of september. I guess if it doesn't come by then i should be asking for a refund? or take further action..

    Can anyone confirm where I find these people? After failing to get the two shirts my son ordered, I have sent them e-mails/letters to ask for my money back. So far no response. Any other ideas/hints/tips? It looks as if some of you have had a response from them, so any info would be gratefully received.

    hope you don't mind me asking but which address was the right one. Ordered 2 polos IN MAY, after numerous emails to bestbuy and Nochex, i've all but given up on a refund. After contacting consumer direct i've been advised to send them a letter but im not sure which address of the 2 is correct. After waiting so long I'm gonna just go straight to trading standards and ask if they can contact them on my behalf as it seemed you only received your refund after they intervened

    Just wondering has anyone else received the following email from Best Buy menswear today?

    'Best Buy Menswear has stopped trading and it's now impossible to make a payment on the website. This business has failed to cover expenses and is a victim of a wholesale scam.

    The reason you was waiting for your garments was because we had placed a large order with a new supplier who guaranteed a delivery date. We checked this company out vigorously and everything was extremely legitimate, however the stock was continually receiving delays (as you know) until we finally realized it's never going to show up.

    Spending the last few days trying to recover the funds we now know its going to be nearly impossible due to the method of payment. This situation on top of general expenses left no funds and was totally out of the blue.

    As zero funds are available, other sources of capital are being used to refund outstanding customers like yourself. We simply don't have the funds to refund everyone immediately and estimate that it may take 1-6 months for a cheque to arrive. Refunds will be given in date order.

    I and everyone at Best Buy Menswear is unbelievably sorry for this deeply saddening turn of events and promise to send a refund to you as quickly as possible. You may be able to recover your money faster by asking your card provider or bank to perform a chargeback on the transaction.

    If you have any questions or concerns please email me directly as we no longer have an office or telephone number.

    Not now really sure what to do except report them to trading standards? any suggestions

    Ask them for more details,like the name and address of the company they say is running the scam.If this is true,they should have no reason not to give it to you. If they wont,well....
    Wouldn't be surprised if he quotes "Data protection" or some such rubbish,not sure I believe it.

    Well it appears that this company just keeps ripping people off. Their excuse last time was that"They had received a fraudulent charge back for thousands of pounds which left the business balance at negative. This nearly put the website out of business and some customers who placed orders were affected.Best Buy Menswear is not a huge corporation and the funds are not readily available to refund everyone at once, however everyday profit is being used to refund those customers who were affected." They also stated that they were an honest company!!!
    Does all this sound familiar?
    The only addresses that I have and I don't know if they are still trading from them are Unit F8, Hammerton House, Burnley, Lancs BB1 1NA and
    Unit 5 South Road, Templefields Enterprise Centre, Harlow, Essex CM20 2AR.

    If anyone has paid by credit card then you can claim that back but for everyone else it will be a lot of hard work. Consumer Direct will tell you the first steps to take and then if no joy, Trading Standards will step in.
    I'm sorry that I don't have anymore up to date information, but don't give up and don't let them get away with it again. I was determined to get my son's money back and it was quite time consuming looking things up and getting in touch with all these agencies but it was a wonderful feeling of satisfaction when I received the cheque and then waiting for it to be cleared.:mad:

    Yes i got the same response about a few items i ordered about 6 months ago. Im fuming about it to be honest.
