Let's see if the cheque arrives before Chistmas time...thanks again for your precious help!We are writing in relation to the Parking Charge incurred on ..., at
Asda Sutton car park.
The Parking Charge has been cancelled and a refund payment will be issued to you by
cheque in the post.
We will endeavour to provide your refund as soon as possible, however on some
occasions, due to high volume of correspondence, this could take up to 40 days.
Up to 40 days to send a cheque, that is plain stupidity and shows their arrogance.
Asda has learned a hard lesson and that is customers must come first. Let's hopr they realise that whatever parking company they employ, they must retain complete control at all times.
I would now send an invoice to Asda for your time spent and of course you will acept vouchers.I used to work for a company that is the biggest in the world in it's sector, they worked on the policy that keeping money in the bank for as long as possible gave them more return, they tried paying our suppliers on a 90 day turn around, but insisted on payments to them within 28 days. They also used to issue cheques from a bank that had the longest payment period and send them 2nd class last thing Friday to hold on to the money for as long as possible, believe me this is a nasty way to act and if I told you who the ruthless ****** are you would be surprised.
Customers must pay within 30 days
Creditors are paid in 90 days
Great cash flow for 2 months ?
But I suppose 3M would eat Parking Eye for breakfast
Asda's operating profit for 2019 was £584.2m (2018:£803.2m).
Parking Eye in 2019 operating profits "12M"
Just small fry in the world of high flying finance

My employer (US corporation, global presence, one of the biggest industrial manufacturing and software companies in the world) has the same approach to T&Cs - standard is 120 days to vendors, 30 days to customers. In reality many of our customers negotiate payment terms of 45 days as part of a global purchase agreement, and vendors negotiate terms of 60 days. So still a 15 day net gain to aid free cash flow, and usually better than that.Jenni x3

seems the same approach used by all major corporations. interesting...0

a quick update - today finally arrived the cheque from PE. Letter dated mid December, but posted only at the end of the year!5

by the way, all this mess was caused by PE/ASDA reducing the parking time from 3h to 2h last Summer. Well, I recently visited the same ASDA store and now the parking time has gone back to the original 3h (3h sticker applied over the 2h sticker applied over the 3h original label).5
