We are already using that thank you. She has little prompt cards in a card wallet.
We have started asking questions without eye contact and ending them with 'let me know when you have decided' which is helping, it takes that urgency out of a question and also things like what she wants for dinner has become.. 'choose your dinner' and she gets it out herself.
We have examined OH's credit cards and computer finance.. paid a chunk off the finance because it is only interest free until Sunday.. one of the credit cards is 0% until March and his other card is slowly being paid off.. very slowly!! so.. in February he is getting a new 0% card and moving everything to that and tarting it until it is all gone.. THEN.. he is reducing the overdraft by £25 a month until it is gone.. it will take forever but it will go, slowly.. that will be a total of £150 a month less going out/added fees!! thats a lot of bread and milk!
Dot's glasses are ready so we will go get those after school.
Squeak just finishing her maths class and she can complete the worksheets and then we will be cataloguing some very beautiful fossils and rocks and writing up presentations on them.. age, place they are from, what they were, habitat etc.. all fun stuff.
She has a script to learn and some songs and spellings.. times tables and cello practice.. and possibly a writing task.. that should be today full.. she has a class at 6pm too.
Suppose I should get dressed!

Pigpen, glad they have arrived and Squeak is happy with them. If there is anything she doesn't want / use please pass it on to a suitable person / schoolGrass is cutOne bit of guttering unblocked, just need to work out how to get the downpipe and bend off to make sure they are not blocked as I think the bend bit is.OH has officially for now, stopped all chemo, (8th Oct ) (this does not mean his is cured) he next has a mri scan early Nov, then a consultant appointment at the end of Nov to discuss the results as it stands. He is very tired, sleeps until 9am ish, then from 1pm to 5pm ish (I go to the beach at this time as he is out for the count) he also for the last week until they stopped the chemo has been very ill.He has now gone out in his car the first time for a while to a car wash as it is covered in webs/ poo etc, then to have a wander around local town to spend his birthday vouchers from months ago. Hopefully as the chemo works it way out of his system, he will be able to stay awake longer! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support vibes etc they have ment a lot to me.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Kaz .. Squeak LOVES them. She has spent all afternoon doing her work but kept getting them out to look at. She is so pleased with the seeds too, she is growing some for Granny because she loves her garden.
We are going to look at how old they are and learn things from there.. I like this interest led learning. I hope OH is sensible, as many men have a tendency to not be! Fingers crossed the MRI brings good news and the chemo effects wear off soon for him.
washing folded and put upstairs, it looked like it might rain but it hasn't yet.
Dots new glasses collected.. they are green, she is happy..
DS1 is having blood pressure investigations. He has a resting heart rate over 150!!! and really high blood pressure. The usual medication is not given to people under 65 and he is 30! Without caffeine or drugs or anything. He is at massively high risk of stroke or brain haemorrhage apparently.. my uncle and grandad both died of strokes at 41 and another uncle of brain bleed at 51, so I am of course concerned.
Squeak has her 'Feel Good Club' at 6 so I will get her set up with that and go find food.

For those who have Pureplanet as their utility provider.. they have just ceased trading because they can not charge over the odds for power.. you might want to check out a new supplier!!

And to cap it all, I still cant get access to the church bank account, despite yet more phonecalls to the Horribly Silly bankTheir helpline is now closed until 8 am. Guess what I'll be doing then?
Flying today has consisted of keeping the kitchen tidy and decluttering another flimsy scarf. Not much, really.

Pigpen, we got referred to CAMHS, horrible man called Derek, all I really remember is that he wore brown cardigans. Then DS became too anxious to attend appointments so we got a nasty letter saying that they were going to end his referral. I think when DS got a little bit older and understood what anxiety was that helped. Lots of love to her, and hope DS1 gets sorted.
Kaz nice to hear OH is out and about, chemo is truly horrible.
Not a bad day here, lots of pressure at work, and DH is still having back problems. Working from home tomorrow and Friday, which is good. We need food, especially if DS2 comes home this weekend.10 -
So today I have...
WM x 1 and line dried it
Cleaned kitchen
Cleaned bathroom (mopped floor with same water, so environmentally friendly)
Made a banana loaf (for colleagues) with left over bananas - chocolate chips instead of fruit. While oven was on I stuck a spud in there for a jacket potato lunch.
Been shopping - Lidl now have their christmas choc bars in stock - bought 2 for foodbank because it's Christmas. (I will keep buying until I have a stack of chocolate - atm it is 6 bars.)
Vacuumed all upstairs - and cleaned my room
Visited the aged p's and we are go with POA (both types) for mum. Jury's out on dad (stepdad)
Vacuumed lounge, hallway and DR. Cut hair from vacuum brush. Emptied all bins - back bin now out.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all
waves at Ionafan patiently waiting on hold for the h.silly bank…
I wandered in and out of the WAC to make sure you were all doing ok. Declined the monster munch kindly left by the door in case the crunch woke the sleepers, but snaffled a couple of custard creams. Bourbons for tonight, I think.
Bedding stripped, wm twirling. I need to sort the airing cupboard and clean washing next, then I need a list. Sorry to be so predictable every Thursday. It looks like I will soon be at work 4 days a week, so really will need to get my act together.Hugs, Kaz, and good news about DH. As YL said, it truly is a horrible process xx
Piggers, I think that Squeak’s learning plans sound fab. You are inspired x
Off to make a second cuppa and write that list.
Hugs and love xx8 -
Morning all. I was up early - at 4.30
- and have already had a cuppa with some toast. DH doesn't usually put our normal breakfast on the table until about 9.00, and I couldn't wait that long
Showered and dressed.
Talked nicely to the Horribly Silly bank, and they are correcting my email address and sending me another activation code. If it works it will be a small miracle!
Also today:
- order meds
- dust and hoover upstairs
- fill in a form for the far more cooperative bank, to get £50 each for myself and a friend
- do some admin letters etc
- drive across town to get another signatory's scrawl on a cheque
- post urgent letters
- food shopping
- hopefully have time to deliver to the scrapstore - it will be good to leave this house after 48 hours of imprisonment (because of the bank problems and waiting for callback)
- ditto to clear out and re-plant the patio pots
- ditto to bring in the last few tomatoes to ripen indoors
- Rosie's walk
Hope everyone has a good day. I have a few spare spoons in the jar next to the hob, if anyone is in need of them xx

nails all Halloweeny.DD1 here with 2 smalls so I will be getting nothing at all done today.
Squeak is making candle with OH. They are making some as christmas gifts next week when he has a day off.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9
