Weekly Flylady Thread 11th October 2021

I'm a hopeless Flylady. I just can't keep up with the Thread at the moment. Sorry.People's expectations of what it's reasonable to ask of other people, Kazw, and for a dogtag! I'm amazed you're willing to put a second class stamp on an envelope after that call.Another WM load on the line, vacuuming happening on the top and bottom levels, as well as dusting and a shower room to sparkle for an arrival tomorrow. We did a lot of work in the yard and on the sundeck yesterday, and it looks much better for it. I now need to find a cheap source of pansies and violas to get some colour in the pots I emptied and it's time to plant the garlic that's been chilling in the bottom of the fridge for six weeks. We finished picking all the pears and the last of the apples over the weekend and shared out dozens with all the neighbours. It's the best crop of apples we've had for years which may have something to do with the fact that the tree was fed and watered properly for the first time all the way through the summer. They taste wonderful. There are way more pears than we could ever eat so when they're a bit closer to being ripe they're being donated the Foodbank because I've got so much pear chutney left over from previous years it's just not worth making more.Better is good enough.10

Bed stripped and in WM
2 pillows washed and now in sun drying
Lunch cooked and eaten
Bed linen all pulled out of the box and sorted by size. Next is to sort how much we really need. Some of it dates from when I went to uni, both my girls finished 5 and 8 year courses this year. Hoarder, me?
Next is a trip into town with DD1 for a few bits. I need a second pair of jeans, just recycled 2 pairs as I don’t wear holes10 -

Thank you for the lists Valli 😊 and thanks Natty for last week
We are off list today as the bedroom carpet has been fitted. We emptied the rest of the furniture, pulled up the old carpet & swept up. DH took the old carpet, the old mattress & some broken blinds to the tip. The carpet fitter turned up at 12:10, which is excellent as it could have been any time up to 6pm!! All done now. The bedroom has been vac'd and we now need to rebuild wardrobes.
In the meantime, I need to do a food shop. The bedding has been washed, and the WM is swishing again. I made some carrot & coriander soup for lunch & it was delish 😋 Homegrown (very wonky!) carrots, onions & potatoes 😁
Washing up done, DW done.
Kaz that was very cheeky!
Hugs, sticks, spoons & posi-vibes aplenty!
Ok - I must crack on!
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!10 -
Thank you for the lists x
Minimal flying here today as usual, although I did run a load of towels, which meant that the kitchen hand towel got washed. So technically something ticked off the Monday list for a change.
Easy dinner of leftovers and salad. WULTD, cleaned kitchen sink and swept the floor. It’s still somehow early, so no excuse not to bash out a few more rows of knitting (decreasing now, so it’s getting more tolerable) and maybe do a module of the latest OpenLearn course that I signed up to a couple of weeks ago.
Kaz - what a cheek! We still have a petrol situation here - all the garages were empty on Friday. We are going out even less than usual, so that we have enough fuel in DH’s car to get to DD if we need to, and mine is purely for getting to work.
ASB - more vibes coming your way.
Looking forward to a WACless night tonight, after a full night shift on sentry duty last night. Feel free to take my seat. Too many biscuits in the WAC are obviously to blame for the full half stone that seems to have crept on over the past month! I need to find the enthusiasm for slinky to resume.10 -
Christmas shopping today.. Sorted Dot, Clawbs and Tiddles today, DS2 is already done and I have decided what Boog is getting.
I have made a start on my mothers shopping list.. I am hoping she will give me the money and I can just blitz everyone all at once and get it over and done with.

Hi all
Went out on my bike first thing, lovely 1.5hours cycling before the paid stuff. Then quick tidy around before I had a shower and went into work. Tea was from the mealplan.
Finished work at 8pm. Not much flying done and the kitchen floor needs mopping, so must try and do that tomorrow.10 -
Morning all
YL - a morning bike ride sounds lovely, and it sounds like it set you up for the day. It’s beautiful here this morning but mighty chilly. There might even have been a touch of frost on the cars.
Today is haircut day, so that takes a chunk out of the middle of the day, by the time that I have driven to big town and back. I’m contemplating popping into Mr M which is nearby, just because they have a good fresh meat and fish counter, but then again we can probably get by on the veg and pulses that I have already.
The wm is doing an extra load for the week - filthy gardening (mine) and hedge cutting (DH’s) clothes. Clean washing has been folded and put away. Next job- make a trip into the loft to sort out some clothes and to retrieve some pickle making jars. Oh and check the meal plan for the next couple of days - assuming I have done it of course.
Hugs, vibes, sticks as needed xx10
