  • I think it's a bit early to really have a clue who the SOLR may be?
Possibly ;-) never know though may get an insider scoop. I can’t honestly remember how long it was til we found out last time, don’t think it was more than a few days? But the switch took some time to complete.

  • I've taken Martin's advice and taken a screen print of the state of my account with Pure Planet.
I see that the tariff has a £30 early exit fee.  Well I hope that they pay that to me as it was them that exited from the contract early!
They claimed to be using 100% renewable energy - so I feel aggrieved that we get caught up in the storm around increasing gas prices.  It is all just a con ...
It is renewable electricity and carbon offset gas, and both still have to be budgeted for in advance or ‘hedged’ a term I’d not heard until recently in energy 🙂 think that’s right?

From memory the only useful info. came with the official announcements, which from memory have taken days rather than weeks? I don't have a strong view on any of the likely candidates that I'm particularly bothered but Octopus would seem the best fit from a green energy perspective if they were interested.

"100% renewable energy" or not, unless they've purchased energy in advance they'll have to pay the market rate.

Likewise, but just personal preference. Saw they took over half a million last time though so they might not want any more 😕

I think the CEO actually came out and said that they would struggle to take on any more and PP whilst not one of the Big Six was not exactly a minnow
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • Ofgem has just announced British Gas as SOLR for MoneyPlus and PFP in its daily email bulletin.

No mention of Pure Planet or anything else…

Those announcement were made mid-September from what I can find, rather than 'just'?
  • @Ultrasonic  So I note myself, now. Sorry if I have not committed the full recent list to memory, as you seemingly have.

What I will say is that those statements HAVE ‘just’ appeared on today’s Ofgem daily bulletin at 15.40, as I said correctly. As it turns out, they are probably shown there in conjunction with other statements about their licences being revoked, which is probably something that Ofgem has to officially state and publish as part of its remit.

All I was trying to do was relay some information. I promise to try harder in future, if at all.

Scottish Power have been strangely absent from recent SOLR activity.
