There is no news in todays daily OFGEM bulletin, which has just been issued, like there has been on previous bad news occasions.

So little man turns up but decides he needs UK Power Networks to come in and do 'something' UKPN come along and think the main fuse might have a bit of asbestos behind it. Visit number 3, someone comes along and takes samples. We get a call saying yes it is asbestos so UKPN will be back with a specialist removal team and once the asbestos backing is dealt with they will do the 'something' they were going to do on visit 3. Then visit number 5 was going to be to actually fit the smart meters
Which won't work because they are in the cellarOur smart meter’s in our Victorian cellar, works fine 🙂As you probably know with old houses, they seem to want an asbestos survey for anything now! We’ve had one for changing gutters (cast iron to plastic) another for re insulating loft, one for a boiler change, one for consumer board renewal ….. and each company won’t take the last report, they want to do their own 🙄Budweiser_072000 said:All those visits are legitimate, its part of the safety process and if your meter is located in a victorian basement its probably very outdated. And I’d much prefer things down there out the way tbh. In fact our consumer board was originally in the cellar but at some point it had been moved to the ground floor - we had a new metal one fitted 2 years ago and had it taken back down to the cellar again, out the way! With emergency lighting fitted down there just incase.0 -

In which case I assume we will be asked for another reading later onIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
